Job Summary
We seek a highly motivated student to help support the University Support Services group within the University Information Technology department. This opportunity will focus on data management and governance. The position will provide support for our data management and governance initiatives. The work will include integrations to third party business glossaries, data modeling, data cataloging, and technical lineage using data governance tools and processes.
Skill Development
This is a project oriented internship that will allow individuals to gain a better understanding of data processes and governance through the use of our data management tool Collibra. The following are some of the skills that may be developed through different projects:

- Working with REST APIs to move data to different systems

- Develop and maintain departmental content and websites

- Review, critique, and develop training material to help business users better understand data governance

There may be other tools or processes touched on throughout the internships. The following are some examples of the skills that may be developed and utilized within this internship from areas outside of data governance:

- Project management,

- Advanced relevant programming skills (i.e., R, Python, SQL , etc.)

- Increase understanding of data warehouse, ETL , data cleansing, and architecture (i.e. delivery methods, analytics, applications and tool portfolio, data sourcing and integration methods)

Responsibilities
The incumbent will work on various technical activities such as data governance and management, API integrations, and documentation. They will collaborate with technical and business users on communicating changes in data availability, visibility, and integrations with end users. They will also help identify the most impactful data governance problems, develop innovative solutions, and successfully launch to key stakeholders, ensuring end-user adoption and satisfaction.

- Excellent problem-solving including research, error detection and correction, root cause analysis, conceptual, analytical and decision-making skills

- Preference will be given to students with related technical coursework and/or professional experience.
