POWER Engineers is currently seeking a mid-level electrical or mechanical engineer with experience in substation physical design to work in the Power Delivery Substation Department in our Atlanta office in Duluth, GA. This is an in-office position, but flexibility is available for a hybrid work environment (the employee will need to live within driving distance of the office).

Job Summary
POWER Engineers is currently seeking a mid-level electrical or mechanical engineer with experience in substation physical design to work in the Power Delivery Substation Department in our Atlanta office in Duluth, GA. Responsibilities
- Perform and direct others in the detailed design of medium to extra high voltage utility substations.
- Perform detailed design of one-line diagrams, general arrangements, elevations, AC service calculations, conduit and cable sizing/routing, substation physical layouts, ground grid layouts and details.
- The successful candidate shall be able to specify and select substation equipment; contribute to substation equipment specifications, proposal development, and project scheduling.
- Occasional travel will be required.
- Ability to function as a Mid Level Substation Physical Design Engineer in our Atlanta office located in Duluth, GA.
- BSEE (BS Electrical Engineering) or BSME (BS Mechanical Engineering) degree from an accredited university.
- Experience in 15kV through 230kV substation design and IEEE/ANSI standards.
- Experience in managing small project teams.
- Experience filling the role of substation design engineer for several projects occurring concurrently.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) registration or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- Three (3) years experience in utility substation design as outlined above.
- The candidate must have strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship.
- Experience in 230kV through 500kV substation design.
- Professional Engineering license (PE).
