Noblis MSD is seeking Electrical Engineers to provide electrical engineering expertise for the research, development, production, integration, updates, and repairs to the electrical components of a fast-paced Navy environment. The positions require broad electrical engineering expertise in determining power requirements, optimization, and troubleshooting for shipboard systems including power supplies, conditioners, interconnects, and power load optimization. Candidates must possess well-developed work habits, and an eagerness and enthusiasm for solving electrical engineering challenges. Projects will include the design, documentation, and testing of a wide array of electrical architectures and electronic systems in the areas of defensive systems, Automated Test Equipment (ATE), uninterruptable power supplies (UPS), power regulators and distribution units, battery technologies, heat dissipation, analog, digital, and system design, and other evolving tasking.

Electrical Engineers in this position will support Navy environment systems engineering efforts by reviewing, developing, updating, and drafting engineering artifacts to include rack elevation diagrams, power load calculations, cable tables, wiring diagrams, technical data packages (TDP), and Installation Readiness Drawings (IRD). Electrical Engineers should be familiar with the following Military Standards and Details:
  • MIL-DTL-24765: Navy / NAVSEA UPS Performance Guide
  • MIL-STD-810 & MIL-STD-167: Thermal Environment testing & 3-Axis Random Vibration tables
  • MIL-STD-461: EMI Testing
  • MIL-STD-1399 & MIL-STD-1275: High-Power Electronics Test Labs
  • MIL-S-901D, MIL-DTL-901E: Lightweight Shock Test tables
  • SWaP-C Analysis: Size, Weight, Power, and Cost

Required Skills:
  • Ability to interact directly with customers to extract requirements, generate a plan, and report status
  • Familiarity with System Engineering concepts
  • Be able to work independently and interact with government and active duty personnel in design and support of system components.
  • Must have experience in designing and troubleshooting complex power domains afloat
  • Must be highly motivated and have excellent problem-solving skills
  • Must demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently with changing deadlines and priorities
  • Must be able to work in a team environment while completing tasks in an unsupervised and self-directed fashion
  • Must have current Secret Clearance
  • Experience with Atlassian, Jira & Confluence tool


Required Qualifications

Required Experience:

Bachelors Degree + 8 years of experience OR Associate's Degree + 11 years of experience OR High School Diploma + 14 years of experience
  • Experience to include engineering design, analysis, and testing in addition to the above requirement
  • Electronic design in the area of power electronics, audio-band amplifiers and filtering, signal conditioning, and/or high-speed digital
  • Schematic entry using AUTOCAD and/or Solidworks
  • Experience creating technical data package quality drawings for electronic systems
  • Hands on lab experience using oscilloscopes, function generators, network analyzers etc.
  • Generation of test plans, specification documents, leading and executing the testing of analog & digital electronic systems, including debugging of software

Salary at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, and clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is provided within the posting and are based on full time status. Part time staff receive a prorated salary based on regularly scheduled hours. The estimated minimum and maximum displayed represents the broadest range for this position (inclusive of high geographic and high clearance requirements), and is just one component of Noblis' total compensation package for employees.
