Scope:

The internal company title ( Associate Director of Finance -US).This position plays a vital role in supporting the business in influencing the company’s future strategy. It is a position for a business minded and versatile finance leader who is willing to roll up their sleeves and help on more hands-on projects. This role will be key in generating and driving financial changes which contribute to a continued scalable and profitable business. The candidate must fundamentally enjoy building and motivating a team hands-on, while working with global counterparts, and the ongoing process of always pursuing excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • The key aspects of the role include (but not limited to) proactively working with business leaders, country management, as well as Regional and Corporate CFO teams:
  • Provide accounting and financial systems support and reporting oversight to the US operations
  • Drive business financial performance through financial analyses to provide strategic insights to support investment and management decisions
  • Oversee, maintain and continually improve budgeting, forecasting, and historical reporting of financials on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis, including variance analysis, management reporting, business performance reviews, KPIs, dashboards, ad hoc analyses and financial modelling
  • Manage US accounting operations including A/R, A/P, billing, revenue recognition, inventory, cost and project accounting
  • Maximize the return on the firm’s financial assets by establishing and managing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems to mitigate financial and legal risk
  • Support and work closely with global counterparts, including Financial Controllers and Finance and Accounting Teams
  • Competent and enthusiastic leadership and development of the US accounting and finance personnel
  • Daily awareness of A/R, A/P, cash position and any significant financial items; communicate same to firm’s leadership
  • Support US payroll operations for employees and sub-contractors, including tax and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Understanding of an effective and efficient internal control environment with proven ability to implement the necessary processes to ensure quality control over the firm’s financial transactions and reporting.
  • Keep current on all relevant federal, state, and local compliance and reporting requirements and prepare all requisite regulatory reports and filings.
  • Prior experience leading accounting/general ledger ERP system conversions.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of progressive work experience in a combination of accounting, financial planning and analysis, and data analysis roles.
  • Comfortable performing routine transaction and reporting functions, fluency with general ledger functions.
  • Experience converting accounting / ERP / EMR systems, specifically cloud based applications like Netsuite / Oracle / MS Dynamics 365 .
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting / finance required, Master’s degree preferred.
  • CPA, CMA or CFA preferred
  • Candidate with exposure in strategy, financial analysis would be an advantage
  • Highly proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI and other reporting applications
  • Strategic and tactical leader and team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills in a global, multi-cultural organization
  • Strong analytical skills with sound business acumen; detail-oriented with ability to multitask and work with tight deadlines
  • Fluent in spoken and written in English. Cantonese and Mandarin language competencies would be an advantage
