Job Description
A3 Technology, Inc. is seeking an entry level Computer Scientist to join our Aeronautical Information Management Modernization (AIMM) team which provides Aeronautical Common Services (ACS) as the single trusted access point of Aeronautical Information including Special Activity Airspace, Federal NOTAM System and airport configuration data Integration and ingestion of eNational Airspace System Resource (eNASR) and Special Use Airspace (SUA) Management System (SAMS) data through eNASR and SAMS SWIM services.
Essential Job Functions:
- Review and comment on system engineering documents, system requirement documents and system testing documents.
- Attend system design reviews, technical interchange meetings and any other meetings as requested to support program and team.
- Possess a technical understanding of systems, databases, networking, computing environment and virtualization.
- Possess a technical understanding of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA); Java Message Service (JMS); Web Services (NOT Web Page Development); Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) Communication Protocol.
- Develop and manage system engineering artifacts, system requirements artifacts, system testing artifacts and required product baseline artifacts.
- Create and conduct Web Service tests using SoapUI test program.
- Create and maintain automated tools using various scripting languages such as Python, Bash, Curl, SQL.
- Provide 2nd level engineering support for the Federal NOTAM System (FNS)
- Support system development, testing, integration and deployment activities for FNS.
- Participate in system test and key site test activities as a tester.
- Provide status each week or as needed.
- Work independently under general guidelines or objectives.
- Must be willing to travel. On call for site support.
- Full-time position, standard work hours, no specified job duration.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Required:
- Working knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 7.6 & above) Operating Systems.
- Working knowledge of XML files and XML transformations.
- Ability to support software applications in Unix and Windows environments.
- Ability to read, decipher, troubleshoot XML files and WSDLs.
- Ability to debug software issues in Unix and Windows environments.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of automated test tools.
- Knowledge of Relational Database System (Postgres, MySQL, SQL Server, etc.).
- Knowledge of Python scripting.
Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Math, or other technical degree from a college or university accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education with a minimum of thirty (30) semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics and computer science and (3) years of related work experience in a computer science or math field OR
- Master's of Science in Computer Science, Math, or other technical degree from a college or university accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education with a minimum of thirty (30) semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics and computer science and (1) year of related work experience in a computer science or math field.
Additionally, US Citizenship or documented proof of eligibility to work in the US is a must. Upon receiving a conditional offer of employment, candidates will undergo a Government investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for Government clearance. Verification of past employment, education and references is also required. It is imperative that candidates be either a US citizen or a current green card holder with the last 3 consecutive years as a resident of the US.
