Responsibilities

Client's Maritime Division (MRD) is seeking a data analyst to support division port planning, development, and other initiatives. MRD serves as a resource for state seaports and waterways, working to highlight the multi-million dollars in funded projects and communicate the multi-billion-dollar portfolio of infrastructure needs. This position will serve MRD as a geospatial data analyst supporting various projects and high-priority initiatives that require quality geospatial information, data analysis, and business analytics. The position will assist with business analysis, including requirements capture, data structure/content prioritization, and process improvements. Staff will lead data development efforts for MRD planning tools, including data collection, analysis, visualization, and manipulation. Familiarity with foundational database concepts, including SQL, custom queries, table views, and geodatabase management, is required. The position will work with Microsoft 365, Esri’s Online Suite of Web Products, and Tableau to create and manage feature services, data exports, dashboards, and other visual content. The position may develop presentations and graphics, support application development and testing, and documentation.

Candidates should be familiar with geography/GIS concepts and have a strong database/computer systems background. Experience in transportation is a plus. Candidates must have strong speaking and communication skills and be open to working in a highly collaborative and engaging environment.

Qualifications

Minimum (Required):

  • 4 years of creating, maintaining, and updating GIS databases and cartographic products.
  • 4 years of developing custom tools, applications, and dashboards utilizing ESRI software, Python, HTML, JavaScript, SQL, and other languages.
  • 4 years of developing and supporting automation processes between database systems and web environments.
  • 4 years of utilizing ArcGIS Online and Portal for ArcGIS to create, maintain, update feature services and web mapping applications.
  • 4 years of providing support, coordination, and advice in developing, implementing, and maintaining geospatial projects and programs.
  • 4 years of coordinating and communicating with vendor teams.
  • 4 years of applied knowledge of Esri web app suites, including Field Apps, Dashboard, Survey123, Web App Builder, and Story Maps.

Preferred (Optional):

  • 1 year experience with LRS systems and data entry and analysis.
  • 4 years experience with ESRI Product Suite.
  • 2 years experience with Geocortex Software Suite and/or FME Software Suite.
  • 2 years experience with Microsoft Product Suite, including SharePoint and Microsoft Teams.
  • 2 years experience with Programming Languages (Python, Arcade).
  • 2 years experience with Web programming languages (HTML, JavaScript, C#).
  • 1 year experience with Survey and mapping methodologies.
