Essco Calibration Laboratory, New England s largest and most diverse calibration and single source laboratory, provides calibration services and solutions to thousands of prominent high tech businesses worldwide. We have an opening for a full-time Electronic Calibration Technician in our Chelmsford, MA laboratory for the 1st shift from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm or the 2nd shift from 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, organized and collaborative. If you have a technical high school education or experience as a test technician in general purpose electrical test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes and power supplies, we will train you to become a professional calibration technician.

Requirements:

Primary responsibilities:

  • Calibrate a wide range of electric devices that include but are not limited to oscilloscopes, multi-meters, low frequency, power supplies, hypots, megohmmeters, LCR bridges, voltage sources, calibrators, resistors, shunts, capacitors etc...
  • Ensure calibrations are performed in accordance with written procedures and/or approved industry standards.
  • Ensure that all work is performed with our mission statement of quality, capability and timeliness.
  • Ensure compliance with the Essco Quality System.
  • Complete each assigned job on time and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Document and evaluate the results of calibrations performed.
  • Work with lab manager and team leaders to meet turn-around commitments.

Skills, Education, Experience:

  • Three years experience as a bench technician (preferred).
  • Will train a candidate with a technical or electrical background.
  • PMEL training or equivalent formal technical training (preferred)
  • Familiar with the requirements of ISO/IEC17025:2017, ISO 9001 and ANSI/NCSL Z-540
  • Computer literate and ability to use enterprise lab management software, MS excel.
  • Strong verbal communication and listening skills.
  • Excellent math skills.

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to sit and talk or hear.
  • Required to walk, lift small objects, and lift up to 50lbs.
  • Maintain safety awareness.
  • Use hands and fingers to handle or feel and to manipulate keys on a keyboard.
  • Reach with arms and hands.
  • Vision abilities require close vision, focusing eyes on a nearby object for prolonged periods of time.

Work Environment:

  • Professional office environment.
  • Routinely use office equipment including computes, copiers, and phones.
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts, pressurized cylinders, chemicals and high voltage power.
  • Noise level is usually quiet to moderate.
