Tenstorrent is looking for an IT Administrator for our Austin, Texas office. This role will have a primary in-office onsite requirement as well as some remote support administration(other sites). With some travel to the offsite DC or CoLo to assist other IT staff.

This role is on-site, based out of Austin, TX.

Responsibilities

  • Main IT rep for employee onboarding and offboarding in the Austin office or remote in the Austin region, setting up new user accounts and devices, and providing onboarding assistance on the first day
  • Troubleshoot basic network issues and escalate effectively when necessary
  • Use JIRA to log, update, and resolve support tickets
  • Collaborate with internal teams and 3rd party vendors
  • Contribute to the continual service improvement of our IT support services as we expand
  • Create and maintain knowledge articles and manuals for systems and applications
  • Assist in Incident Management and contribute to Problem Management
  • Collaborate with internal IT teams on various projects
  • Deployment, maintenance, support and monitoring of our infrastructure in the Austin office
  • Act as an onsite deskside IT presence, supporting and troubleshooting local technical issues from laptops to AV equipment
  • Configure, add and maintain laptop, printer, server, and network inventory including: firewall, Switches, and WiFi access points
  • Other tasks and duties as determined from time to time

Experience & Qualifications

  • Degree/diploma in Computer Science related field or demonstrated combination of education and experience
  • 1+ years of general experience with Network management, mix of physical infrastructure cabling and switches/firewall
  • 1+ years of experience with general IT support, onsite or call center experience
  • Familiarity with Office 365, Entra, and Azure Active Directory
  • Proficiency in MacOS, IOS, Android, and Windows 10/11
  • Working knowledge of computer hardware (Apple & PC’s, laptops, desktops, monitors, and peripherals)
  • Experience with various IT tools and SaaS applications: Google Suite, JAMF, Zoom, Jira, 1Password, CrowdStrike, Entra, Microsoft Office, Slack, FortiClient
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate ideas to technical and non-technical audiences in both written and verbal formats
  • Strong documentation abilities
  • Willing and able to work autonomously with limited onsite oversight
  • Some experience with Veeam Back-ups or similar tools, managing backup & restoration implementation and testing
  • Some experience with firewalls (Fortinet) and Linux based firewall (IPTABLES/IPCHAINS)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficient with SNMP/Nagios/Managed Engine based Monitoring, ElasticSearch, Jamf and Grafana
  • Experience installing and maintaining enterprise level hardware, small deployments count provided its standard equipment
  • Network Administration with CCNA certification
  • Good knowledge of Jira Service Management, Jira Software, and Confluence
  • Administration experience with Office 365, and Google Workspace
  • AV experience, Zoom client and Zoom room administration experience
  • Systems Administration experience in a small to mid-size company using Linux (CentOS/Redhat/Ubuntu), Linux+ certification
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills and experience in IP networking and static routing FTP, SSH, SMTP, DNS, HTTP/S, DHCP
  • Python and other scripting languages such as bash, Ruby etc
  • Intermediate knowledge of TCP/IP including the usage of stateful and stateless firewalls, access control lists, packet capture and logging, network design, Subnetting, IP routing, IPSEC virtual private networks, and intrusion detection and prevention
  • Experience with automation/configuration management tools using Ansible
  • Mac support and experience with Jamf is preferable

Compensation for all engineers at Tenstorrent ranges from $100k - $500k including base and variable compensation targets. Experience, skills, education, background and location all impact the actual offer made.
