Potawatomi Support Services (PSS), a tribally owned business entity providing a range of professional services, primarily to U.S. government agencies is seeking an experienced Aerospace Ground Maintenance (AGE) Mechanic.
The selected candidate, under minimal supervision, performs preventative maintenance actions and inspections on aerospace ground support equipment (AGE) at Volk Field Air National Guard Base (ANGB), Camp Douglas, Wisconsin in accordance with the technical orders for each piece of equipment.
Terms:Full-time / 24-month contract

The work environment characteristics are representative of those found in a professional garage, automotive service center or repair shop. The noise level is usually moderate to high.
Physical Demands (including but not limited to):
Ability to lift 50 lbs. when required. Regularly required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Minimum Requirements, Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- 6 years, USAF AGE 2A6X2 AFSC.
- Valid Drivers License.
- Pass a government background check and be granted base access.
- Obtain an USAF Motor Vehicle Operation Identification Card (AF Form 2293) in 90 days.
- Obtain a Volk 'Certificate of Competency' to drive on flight line (AF Form 483) in 90 days.
- Obtain a Universal Refrigerant Handlers Certificate in 6 months.
- Pass an in-house drivers test to operate trucks (3,000 lbs. or less payload), tow-vehicles (bobtail, capacity of 60,000 lbs. or less), forklifts (4,000 lbs./10,000 lbs. capacity), and all-terrain vehicles (10,000 lbs. capacity) in 90 days.
- Perform preventative maintenance actions and inspections on aerospace ground support equipment (AGE) in accordance with specified technical orders for that piece of equipment.
- Perform unscheduled maintenance and quick repairs on AGE in accordance with specified technical orders for that piece of equipment.
- Ensure all AGE is serviced and ready for operation in accordance with specified technical orders for thatpiece of equipment.
- Perform required services on the following equipment items: A/M32A-60 Generator/Bleed Air, Turbine Engines GTCP85-180, A/M32A-86 Generator, Transformer Rectifiers, EPU-5/E Frequency Converter, FL-1D Floodlight Set, A/M24U-2 Floodlight Set, Portable Electrical Load Banks, A/C and D/C, A/M24T-16 Trailer Mounted Load Bank, MC-7 Air Compressor,MC-20 Air Compressor, A/M32A-95 Turbine Compressor/ Bleed Air Unit, Self-Generating Nitrogen Servicing Cart, A/M32C-10 Air Conditioner, New Generation Heater,TTU-228 Hydraulic Test Stand Diesel Driven, A/M27T-17 Universal Hydraulic Test Stand Diesel Driven, MHU-83 Bomb Lift, MJ-1 Bomb Lift, Aircraft Axle Jacks 20,35, and 65 ton, Aircraft Tri-pod Jacks 10, 20, and 30 ton, Universal Jack Tester, Aircraft Tow Bars, Universal, KC-135 and C-17, Oil Dispensing Cart,Hydraulic Dispensing Cart, Aircraft Disabled Wheel Dolly, Aircraft Stores Loader, Aircraft Fuel Tank Dolly, Aircraft Canopy Crane, 1500 pound, Aircraft Engine Crane, 6000 pound, Fuel Bowsers, Gaseous Nitrogen and Oxygen Carts,Liquid Oxygen Carts, and Maintenance Stands B-1, B-2, B-4, B-5, B-7, and C-1.
- Document all maintenance actions and inspections on AFTO 244 and in the Integrated Maintenance Data System (IMDS) according to Air Force Instruction (AFI) 21-101 and the applicable technical order.
- Ensure tools and shop rags are always accounted for and toolbox is kept locked within the work area when not in use. Track tools in TCMax, tool automated accountability system.
- Dispatch AGE to aircraft on the flight line.
- Tow AGE to and from storage areas.
- Drive government owned vehicles off base to retrieve parts.
- Drive government owned material handling equipment to load and unload equipment.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Store, handle, use, and dispose of hazardous materials/waste according to installation, state, and federal environmental standards. Comply with federal and state Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) laws.
- Accomplish research for equipment parts required to complete repairs. Ensure components designated as recoverable and repairable are returned to the federal supply system.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
