Job Purpose

As a Data Scientist, you'll work under the senior leader of Data and Analytics as a member of IT responsible for developing advanced analytical capabilities including predictive and prescriptive analytics, machine learning, NLP, AI, identifying new and innovating reporting and analytics tools, and implementing the models and tools required to elevate the competency of data and analytics for the client. You will be responsible for developing advanced analytical models and performing data science duties as defined and teach those models and functionality to other members of the team. You will partner with business and operational leaders to provide an impact by leveraging data and analytical tools, strategic thinking, and hypothesis-based analysis on machine learning (ML)-based projects. You'll gain exposure to corporate wide scenarios that require good communication skills and the ability to effectively multi-task. In addition, you'll be involved in training our data citizens using business intelligence tools and solutions and leveraging all of the business applications. Further, they will support senior leadership by creating business insights, reports, and analyses to aid in the decision-making process.

Key Responsibilities

· Work directly with internal and external customers to identify use cases for advanced analytics; developing models, reports, and dashboards that truly drive business value both internally and in the market

· Assist and provide information to users, IT staff, and general management on issues such as planning, scheduling, and using reporting system production capabilities

· Maintain system and application documentation for assigned systems and/or projects

· Develop and provide training to end-users on BI and advanced analytics applications software

  • Translates business needs into analytics/reporting requirements to support executive decisions and workflows with required information
  • Performs large-scale experimentation and builds data-driven models to answer business questions and identify hidden relationships between variables in large datasets
  • Proactively mines data warehouses to identify trends and patterns and generates insights for business units and senior leadership
  • Researches and implements cutting-edge techniques and tools in machine learning/deep learning/artificial intelligence to make data analysis more efficient
  • Applies statistical analysis and visualization techniques to various data,
  • Designs and conducts data analyses with the highest standard of rigor and scientific accuracy; this includes study design, methodology, algorithms, and statistical modeling

Qualifications

  • At least 4 years of demonstrated analytical experience in successfully launching, planning, and executing data science projects, including statistical analysis, data engineering, and data visualization

· Experience and working knowledge of major components of predictive and prescriptive analytical tools

· Experience in the development of Machine Learning models and AI frameworks

· Knowledge of SAP sources (S4, Ariba, Success Factor) and Data Lake platforms like Snowflake

· Working knowledge of current systems analysis and design methods

· Strong customer-service skills

· Effective PC skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio, MS Project etc.)

· Ability to learn and apply new technologies

  • Proven experience in conducting statistical analysis and building models with advanced scripting languages
  • Experience leading projects that apply ML and data science to business functions
  • Specialization in text analytics, image recognition, graph analysis, or other specialized ML techniques, such as deep learning, is preferred

Skills

Fluency in multiple programming languages and statistical analysis tools such as Python, SQL, JavaScript, R, SAS, Excel

Knowledge of distributed data/computing tools such as Kafka

Knowledge of statistical and data mining techniques such as generalized linear model (GLM)/regression, random forest, boosting, trees, text mining, hierarchical clustering, deep learning, convolutional neural network (CNN), recurrent neural network (RNN)

Strong understanding of AI, its potential roles in solving business problems, and the future trajectory of generative AI models

Willingness and ability to learn new technologies on the job

Ability to communicate complex projects, models, and results to a diverse audience with a wide range of understanding

Ability to work in diverse, cross-functional teams in a dynamic business environment

Superior presentation skills, including storytelling and other techniques to guide and inspire

Education

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, data science, statistics, or a related field
  • Candidates will ideally have a specialization in ML or AI
