The Postcard Agency is expanding, and we’re seeking a motivated and creative part-time public relations and marketing associate to support projects for our local and national clients. This is a contract-to-hire position with the opportunity to explore full-time options with benefits after working together for a few months.

Important: The ideal candidate pays exceptional attention to detail and possesses a strong, versatile and captivating writing style that can be adapted for a variety of brands. Excellent writing skills (spelling, grammar and style) are essential for this position.

Weekly Responsibilities

  • Public relations: Create and update media lists, build media kits, conduct media outreach, coordinate media interviews for clients, support the writing of compelling press releases and media pitches
  • Social media marketing: Write social media copy for clients, design social graphics and videos, manage social media calendars, operate social media management platforms, schedule content, engage with social media audiences, coordinate influencer marketing collaborations
  • Content marketing: Support blog and thought leadership content development, research and contact interviewees for Q&As, write blog and email marketing content, edit/proofread content and format content on the website backend
  • Meetings: Participate in internal and client-facing meetings (remotely or in-person in/around Beverly Hills)
  • Reporting: Compile social media, email marketing, content marketing and public relations performance reports

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, public relations, communications or a related field
  • 1-2 years of marketing and/or public relations experience
  • Superior writing, editing, communication and research skills (these skills are absolutely necessary)
  • Public relations experience (building media lists, writing media pitches, coordinating interviews)
  • Social media experience (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube)
  • Graphic design experience (i.e., Canva, Photoshop)
  • Ability to work independently and with a team to meet deadlines
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications

  • Blogging, content marketing and SEO experience
  • Website design and content management system experience (i.e., WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, etc.)
  • Google Analytics experience
  • Proofreading experience and familiarity with AP Style
  • An appreciation for culture, travel, diversity and inclusivity

Hours and Pay

  • Hours: Approximately 10-20 hours per week (remotely, with occasional in-person strategy and client meetings in/around Beverly Hills)
  • Pay: $30 per hour, paid biweekly
  • Timeframe: October 2024-ongoing
