Seeking a Project Engineer for a leading energy construction company based in Portsmouth, NH.

The ideal candidate has 1-5 years experience working within the construction or utility industry. You are proactive, a team player and able to perform independently.

This role provides ample learning opportunities, allowing you to gain hands-on experience and identify trends that help keep the project team on track for more entry-level Project Engineers.

What you will do:

Develop project schedules and processes for cutting-edge overhead transmission projects. The Project Engineer will collaborate with functional leads and project managers, engaging in both office and fieldwork to identify critical and near-critical paths.

  • Monitor and control project expenditures, ensuring accurate recording of tickets, invoices, and claims from suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Provide planning and cost control support for all projects, including variation reporting, contract progress monitoring, and customer billing preparation.
  • Assist with pre-construction tasks such as mark-out requests, job kick-offs, utility work packages, and permitting.
  • Capture and record data including timesheets, crew locations, billing, as-built records, and materials.
  • Manage and schedule project activities, ensuring timely execution and monitoring.
  • Utilize productive reports from the project management system (ViewPoint) for effective project implementation.
  • Collaborate with the project management team to resolve issues and ensure project completion.
  • Report on project costs monthly to ensure expenditures align with the project budget.
  • Attend and contribute to customer meetings, gaining exposure to client interactions and project negotiations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office for project documentation and reporting.
  • Experience in the areas of budgeting, financial reporting, and cost tracking.
  • Have an advanced knowledge of Excel, data manipulation, and spreadsheet design to communicate results.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
