You are:

An accomplished advisor or investment banking professional with experience supporting clients within the Financial Services industry. You are excited to leverage your experience to advise Financial Institutions, Private Equity, Investment Funds, Asset Managers, Regulators and Governments on Balance Sheet and Portfolio Optimization, Acquisitions, Disposals, Financing, Management, Bank Restructuring and Resolutions. This is an in-office hybrid role located in our New York office.

The work:

  • Support the day-to-day execution of projects and ensuring successful delivery of client requirements within the scope of the engagement, including:
    • Drive development of the content, either directly or by providing guidance to client teams (for example, by sharing ideas, frameworks or providing input on research and analysis).
    • Analyze market trends, financial metrics, and regulatory and legal restrictions to assess impact to client’s portfolio and help evaluate different investment strategies.
    • Produce financial models and analysis of credit linked cashflow models and projections.
    • Supporting client relationship management on a day-to-day basis.
    • Supporting project scope and maintaining an acceptable pace of work.
  • Support and contribute to other A&M projects, for example by sharing expertise or best practices.
  • Contribute to the development of intellectual property within the Financial Services Industry including improving methodologies, tools, techniques and developing new ideas and approaches.

Here’s what you need:

  • Minimum 4 years financial advisory and/or industry relevant experience from a competitor Consulting firm, Investment Bank or boutique Advisory firm supporting Financial Services clients with one or more of the following areas:
    • Loan Portfolio Transactions M&A (Sell Side or Buy Side)
    • Loan File and Portfolio Reviews, Loan Restructuring and Recovery Solutions
    • Asset Quality Reviews and Stress Tests, Loan Loss Estimates, Valuations
    • Securitization Transactions, Significant Risk Transfer transactions and credit structuring
    • Bank Balance sheet optimization
    • Transaction support (due diligence, post-merger integration, carve-out, divesture etc.)
    • Bank or credit platform resolutions and wind-downs
  • Outstanding problem-solving acumen leveraging strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills; proven ability to derive insights from large volumes of unstructured information to solve complex, ambiguous problems.
  • Ability to deliver impactful results from ideation to execution by working independently and collaborating within cross-functional teams across multiple, concurrent projects.
  • Advanced Financial Analysis (Excel, Alteryx, Tableau, Python) and Microsoft PowerPoint skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree.

  • Proven success in contributing to a team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
  • You’ve got an MBA after your name or another type of advanced degree.


Applicants must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States.

The salary range is $90,000 - $140,000 annually, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography. In addition, A&M offers a discretionary bonus program which is based on a number of factors, including individual and firm performance.

Regular employees working 30 or more hours per week are also entitled to participate in Alvarez & Marsal Holdings’ fringe benefits consisting of healthcare plans, flexible spending and savings accounts, life, AD&D, and disability coverages at rates determined from time to time as well as a 401(k) retirement plan. Provided the eligibility requirements are met, employees will also receive a discretionary contribution to their 401(k) from Alvarez & Marsal. Additionally, employees are eligible for paid time off including vacation, personal days, seventy-two (72) hours of sick time (prorated for part time employees), ten federal holidays, one floating holiday, and parental leave.
