Job Title: Principal Risk Analyst
Duration: 12-month contract
Location: Tualatin , OR (hybrid)
Pay Range: $69.03 - $72.26 per hour

The Senior/Principal Risk Analyst will be responsible for analyzing risk and developing actionable business intelligence to navigate dynamic energy markets. This role focuses on energy analytics, quantitative analysis, and modeling to assist senior leadership and business partners in managing uncertainty within the energy sector. The position involves leading risk management efforts, optimizing portfolios, and providing quantitative analysis for trading, portfolio management, and market risks.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead Power Operations Risk Management, analyzing operational reports and assessing trading risk limits.
  • Develop and validate quantitative models for effective risk analysis and decision-making.
  • Provide analytical insights for trading, portfolio management, energy market risk, and finance.
  • Independently analyze market optimization using stochastic simulations and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Design complex valuation and price models for structured products.
  • Understand risk metrics models like VaR, Mark to Market, and GMaR.
  • Propose and implement asset and portfolio optimization frameworks.
  • Conduct quantitative research and modeling on energy markets and industry trends.
  • Provide statistical and quantitative tools for hedging and trading decisions.
  • Communicate analysis results to diverse stakeholders, focusing on practical business terms.

Position Requirements:
  • BS or MS in engineering, statistics, economics, or related discipline.
  • 3-4+ years of experience in energy analytics, quantitative risk analysis, or a similar role.
  • Expertise in wholesale power and/or gas markets and quantitative energy trading.
  • Experience with Production Cost Modeling.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Experience with Risk Management Systems.
  • Must-Have Skills:
  1. Experience with Production Cost Modeling.
  2. Experience with wholesale power and/or gas markets.
  3. Experience with Risk Management Systems.
  • Nice-to-Have Skills:
  1. Experience with Endur ETRM.
  2. Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  3. Ability to translate quantitative data into actionable plans for team members.
