Job Title: Application Developer
Location: Remote Eastern Standard Time

Overview:
We are seeking a motivated Full Stack Developer to join our team to support the operations, maintenance, and enhancement of a custom-built web application hosted on AWS GovCloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will work on front-end and back-end development, ensuring the application's scalability, security, and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and upgrade the web application using React, CSS, JS, HTML, DynamoDB, and .NET frameworks.
  • Implement enhancements to both front-end and back-end functionalities based on user needs.
  • Ensure the design of the web application meets customer requirements and optimizes for scalability, resiliency, and cost-efficiency.
  • Update architecture artifacts and system documentation to reflect any changes or upgrades.
  • Represent the team during Architecture Review Board sessions to discuss system architecture.
  • Improve logging, monitoring, and alerting capabilities for proactive system management.
  • Ensure continuous compliance with FISMA standards to maintain the Authority to Operate (ATO) for the application.
  • Develop and implement NIST 800-53 controls to renew and maintain ATO while ensuring compliance with evolving security standards.
  • Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform on AWS.
  • Recommend improvements to the existing infrastructure and identify opportunities for system optimization.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience designing, building, and maintaining custom web applications using .NET, React, HTML, and CSS.
  • 5+ years of experience designing and building secure web applications and microservices.
  • 3+ years of experience with SQL databases.
  • 3+ years of experience presenting and defending application architecture to review boards or similar regulatory bodies.
  • 5+ years of experience working with Agile software development methodologies.
  • 5+ years of experience building CI/CD pipelines, preferably using Azure DevOps or GitLab.
  • Experience designing and building AWS infrastructure, with experience using Terraform for infrastructure provisioning.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders of varying technical backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of FISMA security standards and the ATO process.
  • Proven ability to understand large complex software systems, isolate defects, assess risks, and work within customer-specific deployments.
