OTI works collaboratively with client and administrative support services departments to fulfill the mission of creating a culture of continuous improvement. The Improvement and Education Team (IAET) team oversees a systemwide Continuous Improvement (CI) program aimed at training Health and Human Services (HHS) personnel in Lean, Six Sigma, and other CI methodologies. This training program provides agency staff the skills to develop innovative solutions to complex, high-impact problems facing the Health and Human Services (HHS) system. Improved processes increase health and safety for our clients, save time for our employees, and create a foundation for continued innovation throughout the agency.

The Improvement and Education Team is seeking the ideal candidate to join our team as an Improvement and Education Practitioner (Management Analyst I). The Improvement and Education Practitioner reports to the Director of Improvement and Education and supports the overall Improvement and Education team, which is part of the OTI Continuous Improvement Programs Division (CIPD).

The successful candidate will be a highly organized critical thinker with demonstrated writing and presentation skills, experience in coordinating and supporting the implementation of projects (preferably process improvement projects), and experience developing communication and training materials. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and a demonstrated ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholder groups. The Improvement and Education Practitioner will develop timelines and milestones, assist senior team members with training, work on communication materials, and help maintain the division SharePoint site.

Essential Job Functions

(30%) Work with OTI staff in the planning, coordination, scheduling, organization, and facilitation of trainings, workshops, and project meetings.

(15%) Draft and distribute communication to meet stakeholder needs through branded written, video, and social media assets in alignment with the team’s overall approach to stakeholder outreach and engagement.

(15%) Assist in the preparation of training materials for process improvement trainings and workshops.

(15%) Provide process improvement project support, including meeting facilitation and support, and reviewing and tracking project deliverables.

(10%) Provide copy editing support for division reports, memos, and other deliverables.

(10%) Attend various project workgroups and brainstorms to provide input on communication and identify opportunities to ensure staff is given timely information on various initiatives.

(5%) Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge Skills Abilities

Skill in communicating effectively orally and in writing and at presenting information publicly.

Skill in synthesizing, analyzing, and evaluating highly complicated and technical information and translating it easily into clear and concise documents or presentations.

Skilled in interpersonal communications, emotional intelligence, and relationship-building abilities.

Skill in meeting management including facilitation and administration.

Registration Or Licensure Requirements

Selected candidate will be required to complete the OTI Continuous Improvement Academy.

Initial Selection Criteria

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university required but 4 years of relevant full-time professional work can be substituted for a degree.

At least 1 year of full-time professional work experience.

Experience in Microsoft Office products and/or services, including but not limited to Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Power BI, and SharePoint.
