Job Description:

The Senior Infrastructure Platform Engineer/ IaaS Engineer will play a critical role in designing, engineering, and maintaining the company's end-user devices and related platform software environment. This individual will ensure that the environment meets the company's business, security, functional, price, and performance requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Platform Design and Engineering:

• Design and engineer end-user device and platform software standards (e.g., Windows 11) that align with the company's business and security needs while optimizing functional, price, and performance requirements.
• Collaborate with platform architects to design and implement functional systems.
• Provide advanced administration and troubleshooting, including security patching and capacity planning.

• Development Support:

• Support development efforts by building and configuring server infrastructure components as per requirements.

• Disaster Recovery:

• Participate in the planning and execution of disaster recovery drills and procedures.

• Security and Vulnerability Management:

• Secure and harden systems to address vulnerability findings.
• Assist in performing root cause analysis and remediation of security issues.

• System Maintenance and Optimization:

• Maintain system performance by performing system monitoring, analysis, tuning, troubleshooting, hardware installation, firmware patching, and software patching.
• Implement processes and procedures to reduce and eliminate platform-related outages and downtime.

• Issue Resolution:

• Troubleshoot and resolve escalated issues.

• Consulting:

• Provide design and architecture consulting to the company as requested.

Qualifications:

• Strong experience in infrastructure platform engineering, with a focus on end-user devices and platform software (e.g., Windows 11).
• In-depth knowledge of system administration, security, and networking.
• Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desired Skills:

• Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE)).
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash).
• Knowledge of automation and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
