Job Overview:
The Vice President of Cybersecurity will lead the organization's cybersecurity strategy, operations, and governance, ensuring the protection of critical infrastructure, patient data, and sensitive information. The role demands deep expertise in identity and access management, leadership of a 24/7 Security Operations Center (SOC), and experience in navigating the complex regulatory environment of the healthcare industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cybersecurity Strategy & Leadership:
- Develop and execute the organization s cybersecurity roadmap, aligned with business goals and regulatory requirements.
- Lead the cybersecurity program across all business units, including risk management, threat detection, incident response, and policy development.
- Ensure continuous improvement of security protocols and technologies to meet the evolving threat landscape.
- Identity and Access Management (IAM):
- Design and oversee a robust IAM framework, ensuring that access to critical systems and data is appropriately managed and monitored.
- Implement role-based access controls (RBAC), multi-factor authentication (MFA), and other security measures to protect sensitive healthcare data.
- Security Operations Center (SOC) Leadership:
- Oversee the 24/7 SOC team, ensuring rapid incident detection and response to mitigate threats.
- Direct SOC activities such as threat monitoring, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing.
- Ensure a resilient incident response framework to minimize impact on operations during cyber incidents.
- Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure the organization s security policies and procedures comply with healthcare industry regulations
Conduct regular security audits, risk assessments, and vulnerability management in alignment with compliance requirements. - Collaborate with legal, compliance, and risk management teams to ensure data protection and privacy.
- Team Development & Cross-Department Collaboration:
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing cybersecurity team, promoting a culture of security
awareness throughout the organization. - Collaborate with other IT and business leaders to align cybersecurity initiatives with organizational objectives.
- Provide regular reporting on the status of the cybersecurity program to executive leadership and the board.
Qualifications Education: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. A Master s degree is preferred.
Experience:
10+ years of experience in information security, with 5+ years in a leadership role.
Strong background in healthcare cybersecurity
Proven experience managing identity and access management (IAM) frameworks.
Experience leading a 24/7 Security Operations Center (SOC).
