Weston Distance Learning is currently seeking a Social Work Instructor to help train students in the areas of Social Work, Psychology and Sociology. This is a part-time work-from-home position with the instructor working from a home office using our online learning platform.

Responsibilities include:

  • Review and manage the Social Workcourse assignments, including grading and using innovative ways to provide content coaching
  • Focus on coaching, motivating, and teaching Social Workprogram students through tutoring appointments, email and written comments on graded papers
  • Model effective oral and written communication that engages the Social Workstudents, providing clarity, and improving student learning
  • Demonstrate consistency and fairness in grading and provide timely feedback to students
  • Work with the Curriculum Department in conducting Academic Reviews to ensure content is relevant and current

Requirements for successful candidates include:

  • Possesses a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Social Workor a closely related field
  • Has at least 5 years full-time work experience over the past 10 years in the area to be taught
  • Holds a degree earned from an institution accredited by an agency that is recognized by the United States Secretary of Education and/or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or, for non-U.S. institutions, an accepted foreign equivalent that is listed in the International Handbook of Universities (18th ed.)
  • Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Displays strong teamwork and collaboration skills

Starting pay is expected to be $25/hour but may vary based on experience.
