Job Description:

Innovatus Technology Consulting is seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer with a strong background in Azure, VMware, and Windows to join our team. This hybrid role will require the candidate to be on-site in Suffolk, VA, for two days a week and remote for the remaining time. The ideal candidate must possess an active DoD Secret clearance and have experience supporting cloud and on-premises environments in a secure, mission-critical setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Azure Cloud Management:
    • Design, deploy, and manage Azure cloud environments for both infrastructure and application needs
    • Implement and manage hybrid cloud solutions, ensuring optimal integration between Azure and on-prem environments
    • Perform monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization of Azure resources to ensure high availability and scalability
  • VMware Administration:
    • Administer and maintain VMware environments, including configuring and deploying virtual machines, managing vSphere clusters, and ensuring efficient performance
    • Perform routine maintenance, patching, and upgrades to VMware environments
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to virtualization, including performance tuning and resource allocation
  • Windows Server Management:
    • Manage Windows Server environments, including installation, configuration, and maintenance of physical and virtual servers
    • Implement and manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy within a Windows environment
    • Ensure security and compliance with DoD requirements, including patching, monitoring, and auditing Windows environments
  • Hybrid Infrastructure Support:
    • Provide support for both cloud and on-premises infrastructures, ensuring seamless integration between platforms
    • Monitor system performance, identify issues, and implement appropriate solutions to maintain service levels
    • Plan for and execute disaster recovery strategies, ensuring data integrity and availability across environments
  • Security & Compliance:
    • Ensure that all systems and environments meet DoD security standards and best practices
    • Perform regular security audits, patch management, and vulnerability assessments to maintain system integrity
    • Collaborate with the security team to ensure compliance with government policies and procedures
  • Collaboration & Support:
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams to support infrastructure projects and provide technical expertise
    • Provide end-user support for cloud, virtualization, and Windows environments as needed
    • Create and maintain system documentation, including configurations, standard operating procedures, and troubleshooting guides
Qualifications:

  • Required:
    • Active DoD Secret Clearance is mandatory
    • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
    • 3+ years of experience in systems engineering with a focus on Azure, VMware, and Windows Server
    • Hands-on experience in designing, deploying, and managing hybrid cloud solutions, particularly with Azure
    • Strong knowledge of VMware vSphere, ESXi, and related virtualization technologies
    • Proficiency in managing Windows Server environments, including Active Directory and Group Policy
    • Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues
  • Preferred:
    • Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-104, AZ-305)
    • VMware certifications (e.g., VCP)
    • Familiarity with DoD security requirements and best practices, including STIGs and RMF
