Job Description

Education & Experience:

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Aviation Sciences, Quality Systems, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Entry Level position.
Position Purpose:

Responsible for providing technical support in conducting investigations on known quality issues under the oversight of a QAEII. Implements plans and instructions in support of departmental policies. The QAE will work to determine root cause and corrective action for known quality issues using the 8D methodology, validated by the audit group. Ensures compliance with all applicable regulations and promotes a good working relationship with local regulatory authorities. Ensures a safe, conforming, and quality product is delivered to our customers.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

  1. Conduct investigations on quality issues according to department procedures and work instructions.
  2. Actively identify and complete process improvement projects to enhance quality or efficiency of quality processes.
  3. Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction (internal and external).
  4. Collaborate with other departments and/or disciplines.
  5. Develop and maintain a FOD (Foreign Object Damage) free environment.
  6. Execute company policies and procedures; develop new procedures as needed.
  7. Promote and encourage a culture of continuous improvement.

Additional Functions:

  1. Support operating priorities as identified by the Quality leadership team.
  2. Perform other duties as assigned.
Other Requirements:
  1. An Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License can be used in combination with 4 years of related experience in lieu of the degree requirement.
  2. ASQ certification (CQE) and/or experience as an FAA recognized airworthiness designer is highly preferred.
  3. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  4. Familiarity with Lean/Six Sigma processes.
  5. Ability to learn manufacturing processes (e.g., Assembly, Machining, Special Process, Inspection).
  6. Good communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  7. Proficient computer skills.
