All compensation is marked-to-market using third-party salary and contractor platforms and we pay a premium for excellence and creativity.
Quire is seeking a M&A & Valuation Financial Analyst to support a high-profile strategic project. This is a five (5) week project, fully remote with no travel required.
We are looking for a Financial Analyst with at least 3 years of experience in M&A, valuation analysis, and financial modeling for digital media companies. The role will focus on financial modeling related to mergers and acquisitions, including building and refining complex valuation models and conducting scenario analyses.
Our preference is for candidates from digital media companies or traditional media with experience in M&A transactions and valuation work. Candidates with relevant Wall Street or Private Equity backgrounds will also be considered if they bring strong industry knowledge and direct hands-on experience in M&A within the digital media space. Experience with deal structuring and financial due diligence is a plus.
We prioritize candidates with leadership experience in start-up digital news ventures and established niche digital news platforms. This includes The Hill, The Messenger, Axios, Medium, Politico, Insider, Quartz, HuffPost, Vice, Slate, Vox, The Intercept, and similar companies known for innovative digital journalism and content strategies.
You will work with a group of highly experienced consultants, strategists, 2 additional financial analysts, and operators as part of a client engagement which means every deliverable must be the highest quality. Because this is a short project, the working environment is very fast-paced, requires the highest professionalism, and is stressful for those who are not truly world-class contributors.
Candidates must consistently exhibit exceptional self-discipline and professionalism. You will play a pivotal role in translating our value proposition to potential clients and providing them with the highest-quality deliverables.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the project team by conducting in-depth research and financial analysis related to M&A in the digital news space.
- Build and refine complex financial models, including valuation and scenario analysis for potential transactions.
- Research and build comparables and comp sets for relative valuation analysis.
- Manage quick-turnaround deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Conduct financial due diligence and scenario planning related to M&A opportunities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing insights and recommendations to drive strategic decision-making.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- 3+ years of M&A and valuation experience, specifically in the digital media sector.
- Strong financial modeling skills, with the ability to build detailed valuation models and perform scenario analysis.
- Experience with deal structuring, financial due diligence, and transaction advisory.
- Hands-on experience in digital media or traditional media companies.
- Experience in TMT investment banking or Private Equity is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
- Proficiency in Excel and financial analysis tools, with strong presentation and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and meet tight deadlines.
COMPENSATION
This position is paid hourly as a 1099 contractor, with rates based on expertise. The equivalent salary ranges from $115,000 to $175,000 per year, translating to $50 to $85 per hour. Candidates with extensive M&A experience in the digital media space will be considered for a higher rate based on their qualifications and experience.
