Job Description-
We are looking for a Senior Accessibility Test Engineer. This is someone who tests the access for the handicapped, such as hearing impaired, vision impaired, etc. Please look at the mandatory skills provided.
"NOTE: If selected for this position, you are required to perform ALL work within a commutable distance of your assigned Worksite Location. Three days a week onsite, Tues, Wed, Thurs, with Monday and Friday being remote"
Mandatory skills:
- HTML/CSS/JavaScript: 3+ years is required
- Accessibility: 3+ years is required
- ARIA Accessibility: 3+ years is required
- Accessibility (Keyboard/VoiceOver): 3+ year is required
- Accessibility Testing: 3+ year is required
Required Skills:
- Proven experience in web accessibility consulting, with a deep understanding of WCAG 2.1 guidelines and ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) standards.
- Proficiency in accessibility testing tools (e.g., Axe, WAVE, Lighthouse) and assistive technologies (e.g., screen readers such as VoiceOver, JAWS, NVDA).
- Strong technical knowledge of front-end web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), with experience addressing accessibility issues in modern frameworks like React or Vue.js.
- Familiarity with automated accessibility testing and integrating accessibility into development pipelines (e.g., with CI/CD).
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to translate accessibility requirements into technical solutions.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working across teams and advocating for accessibility initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Play a crucial role in enhancing the accessibility of our digital experiences.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and audit accessible web solutions across HPO platforms.
- Conduct accessibility audits of web applications, ensuring compliance with WCAG 2.1 (AA) and our internal accessibility guidelines.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation on accessibility testing methods, tools, and processes.
- Collaborate with developers, designers, and product teams to integrate accessibility best practices into the design and development processes.
- Provide detailed recommendations and solutions to improve accessibility, addressing issues like keyboard navigation, screen reader compatibility, color contrast, and other key areas.
- Educate and mentor teams on accessibility standards, tools, and techniques to foster a culture of inclusivity.
- Work closely with quality assurance teams to define testing strategies for accessibility and verify that digital assets meet compliance standards.
- Stay updated on emerging trends, tools, and technologies in the accessibility space and continuously advocate for new opportunities to enhance our accessibility efforts.
Nice to Have:
- Certifications in accessibility (e.g., CPACC, WAS, CPWA).
- Experience working in large-scale or enterprise-level environments with a focus on product accessibility.
- Familiarity with mobile accessibility (iOS and Android) and our Human Interface Guidelines.
- Experience in providing accessibility training and mentoring for developers and designers is a plus.
