Overview:

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Data Governance Consultant to lead and manage key aspects of Data Governance, such as Metadata Management, Business Glossary, and Data Quality. This role requires a skilled communicator capable of working closely with clients, Collibra subject matter experts (SMEs), and cross-functional teams to drive success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Oversight: Lead all Data Governance initiatives, ensuring effective oversight of Metadata, Business Glossary, and Data Quality processes.
  • Collaboration: Partner with clients and Collibra SMEs to implement the Data Governance Operating Model and recommend improvements to the Collibra Platform to maximize value.
  • Communication: Engage regularly with executive clients and AFS leadership, demonstrating strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team Engagement: Work efficiently within cross-functional and agile teams to prioritize tasks and manage the team's backlog in alignment with client needs.

Collibra Cataloging Expertise:

  • Expansion & Metadata Cataloging: Identify and catalog metadata from additional business units as the program expands, leveraging governance models and templates for metadata discovery and curation.
  • Structure & Organization: Review and optimize the Collibra organization structure by categorizing metadata into the appropriate communities and domains.

Required Skills:

  • Expertise in Collibra metadata ingestion using Import/Export features in Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of Collibra's environment, including Communities, Domains, Asset Types, Business Glossary, Data Dictionary, and Helpdesk.

Issue Management & User Support:

  • Issue Management: Proactively address and manage a growing volume of issue management activities as the catalog and user interaction increase, adapting processes to suit USPTO-specific requirements.
  • User Interaction: Ensure functionalities like Ask the Expert, Comments, and Ratings are customized to the roles identified in the USPTO operating model.
  • Workflow Management: Maintain automated workflows within Collibra, ensuring that issues are routed to the correct roles for resolution.

Required Skills:

  • Strong understanding of Data Helpdesk Module, Issue Types, Collibra Workflows, and Roles and Responsibilities.

Continuous Improvement & Automation:

  • Collaboration: Collaborate with Collibra SMEs to identify opportunities for optimizing catalog performance.
  • Monitoring & Automation: Monitor and address user-reported issues using Collibra features, and support the automation of workflows, including tools like the Lineage Harvester.

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge of Collibra's third-party integration options.
