Summary:
An Oracle HCM (Human Capital Management) Techno-Functional Consultant specializes in both the technical and functional aspects of Oracle s HCM cloud or on-premises solutions.
Here's a breakdown of the role and responsibilities:
Functional Knowledge
Understanding Business Processes: Deep knowledge of HR processes, including recruitment, onboarding, employee records, payroll, benefits, time and attendance, performance management, and learning.
Configuration and Customization: Configuring Oracle HCM modules to meet client-specific requirements and customizing user interfaces, workflows, and reporting where needed.
Requirement Gathering: Collaborating with HR teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications for the IT team or solutions within Oracle HCM.
Technical Skills
Technical Development: Creating custom reports, writing SQL queries, developing integrations, and working with data transformation using tools like Oracle Integration Cloud, BI Publisher, and HCM Extracts.
Data Migration: Handling data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) for migrating HR data into Oracle HCM from legacy systems.
Security and Roles: Managing roles, permissions, and data security within Oracle HCM to ensure users have appropriate access to HR data and functionalities.
Integration & Workflow Automation
Integrating Systems: Using Oracle APIs, REST/SOAP services, or Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) to connect Oracle HCM with other systems (such as payroll, ERP, third-party applications).
Workflow Automation: Streamlining HR workflows within Oracle HCM to improve efficiency and reduce manual steps.
Troubleshooting & Support
Issue Resolution: Diagnosing and resolving issues within the HCM modules, providing technical support to end users, and liaising with Oracle Support if necessary.
Training and Documentation: Creating user manuals, training end users, and providing post-go-live support and knowledge transfer.
Skills and Tools Needed
Technical Skills: SQL, PL/SQL, XML, REST/SOAP APIs, BI Publisher, OTBI (Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence), and Oracle Integration Cloud.
Functional Skills: HR business process knowledge, expertise in Oracle HCM modules (such as Core HR, Payroll, Benefits, Talent Management).
Soft Skills: Analytical thinking, communication, problem-solving, and the ability to work in a team environment.
