The Opportunity

The Business Capability Specialist role will be part of the PTS Business Capability Center of Excellence. This is a team of Business Capability Specialists, Leads & Owners who are responsible and accountable for the process, systems, data and communities that support the PT P2DP (plan to deliver business product processes) which represent our supply chain and manufacturing business processes and the PT Marketing Plan to Cash (MP2C) processes. MP2C includes processes associated with contract management, order management, & delivery in the affiliates. The CoE focuses on driving innovation, continuous improvement, and transformation of P2DP & MP2C business processes and strategies with their site and global business partners. They also play a key role in shaping the future business processes being developed for ASPIRE (SAP S/4 & OMP implementation project) and those enabling the PTS Supply Chain Operating Model.

This role will focus on supporting PT MP2C processes and will partner with peers in the Business Capability CoE & their extended communities, internal and external customers, and network partners, to contribute to the implementation of End-to-End solutions that optimize performance across functions and processes. This includes supporting efforts that arise from the ASPIRE project, implementation of the new PTS Supply Chain Operating model, or network continuous improvement efforts. In this role you are responsible for supporting process execution to keep it harmonized and aligned across the different organizations. You will also support data steward efforts as needed, apply Lean methods in daily activities, and display PT Behaviors.

What You'll Do

  • Actively supports the Business Capability Community and collaborates with fellow Business Capability Specialists and business partners (IT BPs, SMEs, business process experts (BPEs),functional organizations) and others as appropriate to drive delivery of continuous improvement initiatives and transformation projects related to PT MP2C process (Marketing Plan to Cash operations including contract management, order management & delivery) .
  • Contributes to options analysis and design of solutions to resolve PT MP2C related process, system, performance indicators, enhancements, and/or data concerns.
  • Provides troubleshooting support to the Business Capability CoE. Provides training for end users, escalates process, system, or data design problems or improvement opportunities to the communities.
  • Supports the Business Capability CoE in authoring appropriate documentation and mapping of the desired state of processes and associated systems, data and analytics at the appropriate level. This includes process flows, process instructions, training material, system requirements and business rules (i.e. for data or reporting).
  • May act as or support a Product Owner or Product Manager role on an agile team to support PT Business Capability CoE business processes.
  • Acts as a data steward for KPIs / PHIs and Analytics as needed for core processes.


Who You Are

  • You possess a BS/BA in a technical/scientific, business, supply chain or pharmaceutical field
  • You have 5+ years experience in business/operations support in either Manufacturing operations or Marketing Plan to Cash operations (Contract Management, Order Management, Delivery) is mandatory, including experience with associated business systems and data
  • You are able to use data to support change in business practices and processes and you have strong knowledge of data lifecycle management and dedication to data ownership
  • You will collaborate across cross functional organizations while problem solving and recommending solutions


Preferred
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
  • APICS and/or SCOR certification
  • Completion of formal training courses and seminars in business process management, supply chain, and information systems/technology is desired
  • Experience in Business Process Excellence and in applying LEAN or Agile methods and tools
  • Experience working in agile or SAFe teams as a Product Owner or Product Manager


The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of South San Francisco, CA is $133,300 - $247,500. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
