Job Summary

  • Provides medical administration support by obtaining referrals or prior authorizations for patients to see specialty providers
  • Responsibilities include processing authorization and referral requests, coordinating with health plans and contracted providers, and supporting Case Management staff
  • The role serves as a resource for providers regarding the authorization process and requires strong knowledge of medical terminology, Microsoft Office, and attention to detail

Education: HS Diploma or GED

Experience: 2 years of relevant experience

Skills & Knowledge: Medical terminology, CPT/HCPCS/ICD-9 coding knowledge, proficiency in Microsoft Office, organizational skills, and the ability to maintain composure during challenging interactions
