Nalco Water, an Ecolab Company, has an opening for a Senior Lab Technician to perform a variety of routine laboratory operations to assist scientists in making qualitative and quantitative analyses of a variety of materials in the Deposit Analysis group. The ideal candidate would collaborate effectively with teammates to complete interdependent tasks in a timely manner and take part in troubleshooting challenges when needed.

What You Will Do:
  • Follow all safety procedures and risk assessments
  • Prepare samples such as corrosion coupons, press fabrics, solid deposits, resins, or reverse osmosis membranes
  • Conduct a variety of materials and chemical testing procedures by working with laboratory instruments to gather results
  • Record and analyze testing results consistently and accurately in Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
  • Training new members of the team in lab techniques after gaining expertise in those areas
  • Maintain equipment in operating condition and order supplies and services as needed
  • Preparing and stocking supplies for daily lab work
  • Routine laboratory cleaning

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in applied science or related field
  • 2 years of experience working in lab environment with analytical equipment
  • Strong understanding of materials testing procedures
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • A high attention to detail and quality of results
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently and as part of a team
  • No immigration sponsorship available for this role.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge and expertise in elemental and ion exchange resin analysis lab practices.
  • Experience working with Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
