The Mechanical Designer generates solid geometry computer models and 2D engineering drawings for product assemblies and components. As a product designer, you will use your skill and knowledge of products and processes to bring innovative designs to life.
Requirements
Position Purpose:
- Use Autodesk Inventor 3D CAD to develop and improve market leading products.
- Create high quality designs in a timely fashion to support project schedules.
- Design components to be manufactured via machining, sheet metal bending/rolling, welding, CNC machining and other related processes
- Create and revise production engineering drawings (assemblies, components, and layouts) that include multiple detailed views.
- Check dimensions, materials, and positional relationships of components and subsystems within top level CAD assembly structures.
- Collaborate with production personnel to understand fabrication and assembly process requirements and design for cost effective and efficient manufacturing and assembly.
- Create and release BOMs for mechanical assemblies.
- Utilize Vault PDM to maintain organized file system for production CAD files.
- Participate in Design Reviews
- Review drawings prepared by other Mechanical Designers and Engineers.
- Comply with plant safety procedures to ensure a safe environment
