What Are We Looking For

Momentum is looking for passionate Local Activation Managers to lead planning, coordination and execution of local and regional brand and portfolio events.

You’ll manage client, territory, and ambassador relationships, providing day-to-day guidance and develop highly influential relationships both internally and externally to build the WGS brand with target audiences, achieve growth, and perform against KPIs.

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL DO (RESPONSIBILITIES)


  • Work hand in hand with Division Marketing to plan & activate HQ Brand Programs (e.g. SMSW & Milagro masterclasses, Hendrick’s Cucumber Companion & Deconstructions, etc.) in local market
  • Assist with execution of locally planned events & activations alongside Division Marketing Manager (i.e. golf tournaments, wine & food festivals, charity events, whiskey fests, trade shows, etc.)
  • Manage ordering, storage and transportation of local event and event POS assets.
  • Coordinate and lead setup & breakdown of local events - POS, samples, print work, etc.
  • Work hand in hand with local commercial team, OPS & ADS team to schedule and coordinate staff trainings for key on and off-premise accounts
  • Work hand in hand with local commercial team, OPS & ADS team to schedule, coordinate and support key on and off-premise accounts with activations (including samplings)
  • Manage on and off-premise sampling agencies.
    • Ensure agencies are meeting local sampling event staffing needs with high-quality samplers
    • Ensure agencies (and samplers) are trained on brand knowledge, sampling event process, featured cocktails, key talking points, give-aways, etc. for each brand/ brand activation.
    • Ensure agencies are stocked with appropriate sampling tools (uniforms, POS, give-aways, sell sheets, etc.) and are using appropriate tools with each sampling event
    • Ensure agencies comply with data capture process and data roll-up requirements. Ensure all data roll-ups are submitted to WGS in a timely manager
  • Work in partnership with Division Marketing, Brand Ambassadors (BA), and local commercial team to schedule and coordinate BA visits to local markets including scheduling and coordination of staff trainings, distributor trainings, customer education, consumer and trade events, blitzes, etc.
  • Work with Division Marketing to ensure the local event activation budget is being tightly managed
  • Maintain local event calendar and disseminate to local team and Division Marketing every two weeks
  • Partner with Division Marketing Manager and local distributor marketing lead to find, research and recommend appropriate local events for brand participation.
  • Act as WGS ambassador of full portfolio
  • Responsible for managing budgets against the goals and expectations set by the Brand Marketing Teams, as well as building highly influential relationships with key on-premise, off-premise and distributor audiences that help advance the portfolio, build the brands among the target audiences, help achieve growth and perform against the set KPIs.
  • Share best practices across regions, recommending implementation of new policies or programing as appropriate.
  • Create an effective post event recap for all events within 2 weeks of event close
  • Demonstrate a current working knowledge of alcohol sampling legal restrictions across multiple-states and municipalities
  • Maintain a current working knowledge of relevant competitive and category landscape and provide regional competitive tracking and reporting

HERE’S WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR (QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
)

  • Bachelors Degree, preferably in Marketing is preferred, but not required
  • Minimum 2-3 years of event planning and execution experience
  • Minimum 2-3 budget management experience
  • Experience working with brand, agency and sales teams required
  • Highly effective relationship builder and influencer
  • Detail-oriented
  • Motivated / Self-Starter, proven ability to “get-the-job-done”, that’s able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills. Candidate will be expected to give compelling and insightful trainings to sampling agencies
  • Ability to work independently and as a team
  • Ability and willingness to “pitch-in” and get the job done
  • High level of IT proficiency
  • Understanding of the 3-tier US liquor regulatory environment and the on and off-premise channels preferred
  • An entrepreneurial attitude. Pro-active thinking. Ability to drive thoughtful dialog, own a room and roll with the punches
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and comfortable navigating client asks
  • Experience in field marketing
  • Successful and resourceful client manager with an ability to build relationships and business effectively
  • Keen ability to identify opportunities and resolve challenges
  • Experience managing/training/mentoring
  • Experience managing budgets
  • Knowledge of local on-premise spirits market, including local laws & statutes
  • Minimal travel as required by Client /Agency team
  • Must be willing to travel within 75 miles of city center
  • Comfortable lifting up to 30lbs and dollying up to 100lbs
  • Must be willing to work nights & weekends
