Job Title - POS Tester

Key Responsibilities

  • Test Execution: Conduct functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT) for POS systems.
  • Test Planning: Develop and maintain detailed test cases, test scripts, and test plans based on business requirements and technical specifications.
  • Defect Management: Identify, document, and track defects in bug-tracking systems. Work with development teams to prioritize and resolve issues.
  • Automation Testing: Utilize test automation tools to increase testing efficiency and coverage where applicable.
  • Performance Testing: Conduct performance and load testing on POS systems to ensure they can handle expected transaction volumes.
  • Compliance Testing: Ensure that POS systems meet all legal, financial, and compliance requirements.
  • End-to-End Testing: Verify the integration of POS with other systems, such as inventory management, payment gateways, and loyalty programs.
  • Reporting: Generate detailed test reports and communicate testing outcomes, including risks and issues, to stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to process improvement initiatives and enhance testing strategies to achieve higher quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of [X] years of experience in software testing, with at least [Y] years focused on POS testing.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with POS systems, payment processing, EMV standards, and contactless payment technologies.
  • Testing Tools: Proficiency in test management and automation tools such as JIRA, Selenium, or QTP/UFT.
  • Methodologies: Knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Education: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications: ISTQB, CSTE, or any other relevant certification in software testing.
  • Domain Knowledge: Experience with retail or hospitality POS systems and familiarity with inventory management, loyalty programs, or e-commerce integration.
  • Scripting: Ability to write scripts for test automation using tools like Java, Python, or C#.
