Role Summary

As a Senior Software Engineer focused on content systems and portal development, you will play an integral role in supporting our technical documentation team. You will design, develop, and maintain scalable content management systems (CMS) and customer-facing portals that drive seamless access to technical documentation and product information. Your work will directly impact the efficiency of our documentation processes and enhance the overall information experience for our customers.

You will be a great addition to the Splunk Product Experience organization if you:
  • Are passionate about creating user-friendly and highly functional content websites and content systems that assist internal teams and external users.
  • Have a deep understanding of content management, metadata structures, and the importance of content discoverability.
  • Thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy working closely with technical writers, UX designers, and product teams to deliver solutions that improve content delivery and user experience.
  • Are a problem solver with the ability to think strategically and implement innovative solutions to complex content and portal challenges.
  • Have experience with modern web technologies, content management systems, feedback systems, URL redirect systems, cookies, and cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Have a proactive mindset for identifying ways to improve content systems, services, workflows, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Are thorough and can ensure consistency, accuracy, and efficiency in how content is created, stored, maintained, categorized, localized and published.

Must-have Qualifications
  • 8+ years experience in software development, with a focus on building and maintaining content management systems, portals, or similar platforms.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, or similar, and experience with frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js.
  • Hands-on experience with content management systems, and understanding of best practices in content architecture.
  • Experience in building and integrating RESTful APIs or similar to connect content systems with other applications.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, and experience deploying and managing applications in a cloud environment.
  • Strong knowledge of version control systems like Git.
  • Ability to identify, diagnose, and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience working in cross-functional teams.

Base Pay Range

SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area

Base Pay Range: $174,800.00 - 240,350.00 per year

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts

Base Pay Range: $157,320.00 - 216,315.00 per year

All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.

Base Pay Range: $139,840.00 - 192,280.00 per year

Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
