Data Engineer Snowflake and Google BigQuery

Overview

Our client offers the only full-scale returns solution that improves every step of the returns cycle for retailers. From an easy-to-use, customer-facing returns portal, to data-driven returns processing technology, to secondary channels that keep unsold items out of landfills and in the circular economy, they re dedicated to making returns work for retailers, their customers, and the place we call home.

Our client has an immediate need for a multiple Data Engineers.

Specifically, our client needs the following skills:

  • Experience in data analytics and business intelligence
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with Snowflake & Google BigQuery
  • Strong with data transformation frameworks, particularly DBT (data build tool)
  • Proficiency in Python for data analysis and manipulation
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI)
  • Knowledge of data orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Prefect)

Primary need is completing our clients Snowflake to BigQuery migration that is already underway. Once the migration is completed, there will be opportunities to stay on and help improve and add capabilities to the new solutions.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor s degree in business, CS, IT, or Business Administration; Or equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience
  • 5+ years of Data Engineering
  • 3 years of experience with Snowflake and Google BigQuery
  • Proficiency in Python related to data engineering
  • Familiarity with Data Viz tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI)
  • Understanding of data orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Prefect)
  • Strong analytical, multitasking and problem solving capabilities

This is a long-term contracting opportunity (initial contract will be for 6-12 months), with likely extensions for solid performers. Our clients offices are in Washington DC, although they are fine with remote candidates in the continental US, who would be available for meetings during normal business hours on EST.
