Overview
Our client has a global footprint delivering increasingly digital services to graduate program candidates and schools/universities around the world. Our client is seeking a a solid Network Administrator candidate to help maintain and administer their existing infrastructure.
The Network Administrator is a hands-on role responsible for the planning, installation, configuration and maintenance of network hardware and software, such as virtual servers and software applications, operating systems and securing mobile devices. This position is also responsible for assisting the service desk team with maintaining assets and assisting with daily tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain systems keeping all systems patched and managing software deployments as necessary.
- Handle day to day service desk escalations.
- Working knowledge AD, Microsoft 365, Azure Cloud and SaaS solutions.
- Assist with implementing and monitoring local and remote network access.
- Assist in evaluating and implementing new network software releases, patches and third-party products.
- Create new users accounts and provide required access to all of the corporate services, data, and resources. Reset Passwords for main accounts.
- Assist with maintaining production, testing, and other system environments.
- Ensure adherence to escalation procedures. Respond to escalated, complex and high-end user issues promptly.
- Assist with providing ongoing support and training of employees as well as new temps/interns as needed.
- Monitor the uptime and performance of websites and provide dashboard reports to show real-time performance, uptime/downtime.
- Order IT related products, licenses, services, and software for properly maintaining the environment.
- Document and maintain documentation on running systems and procedures.
- Maintain security standards for all systems in consultation with the Info Sec team.
- Participate in after-hours/weekend network support as needed.
- Responsible for the software and technologies designed for operating and monitoring applications, data and services residing in the cloud, cloud services, and cloud environments.
- Other responsibilities and duties, as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor s degree in business, CS, IT, or Business Administration; Or equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience.
- 3 years of experience in the following: Microsoft Windows Platforms, Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Azure.
- 3 years of related customer service experience.
- 3 years experience with Cisco based LAN or WAN technologies.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including after business hours; and periodically be on-call for after-hours support.
- Experience with hypervisor technologies (specifically VMware vSphere).
- Ability to carry a cell phone during business hours and on-call hours.
- Excellent organizational, project planning, presentation and time management skills with careful attention to detail.
- Ability to manage daily operations of the function and prioritize work without direction.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in a team setting, and across external and internal stakeholder groups.
- Strong analytical, multitasking and problem solving capabilities.
- Flexibility to adjust work hours to support staff in other region offices, when needed.
- Ability to travel, as needed, to support global offices.
Desired Skills/Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in the following: Microsoft Windows Platforms, Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Azure.
- 5+ years of related customer service experience.
- Familiarity with higher education industry and/or nonprofit sector.

This is a full time employee position working directly for our client. Their offices are in Reston VA, and they are looking for a Hybrid model where you would come in 2 days/week locked in to Tuesday s and Wednesday s.
