The Sr Accountant, Fixed Assets is a key position and impactful contributor within the Controller's organization. This role reports to the Manager, Accounting Network Corporate Fixed Assets R&M as an individual contributor. The Sr Accountant will collaborate across the enterprise, partnering closely with Network Engineering, Retail, Real Estate, IT, Tax and other teams.
The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in technical and operational accounting, and the ability to work with and analyze large volumes of data. The role will participate in month-end close and reporting processes, providing capex/opex guidance, SOX and financial audit compliance, process improvement, and other projects.

What you'll do in your role:
  • Understand business drivers and their effect on financial results to ensure business changes are accurately reflected in the financial statements and communicated to business partners.
  • Collaborate and effectively partner with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives, drive process improvements, and implement best practices.
  • Communicate regularly with operational business partners to identify issues and areas for operational improvement, share knowledge about financial trends and upcoming changes.
  • Assist in creating monthly and ad hoc reports from multiple sources using Power BI, Tableau, or other business analytics tool
  • Proactively identify risks and opportunities for improvements within Fixed Assets processes and recommend solutions.
  • Support the monthly close process, including preparation and review/posting of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis and reporting.
  • Document and ensure that effective internal controls are developed and performed, ensuring compliance with SOX requirements.
  • Provide support for the audits performed by internal and external auditors.


The experience you'll bring:
  • Strong understanding of accounting theory and accounting systems; SAP and BPC experience a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and within the organization.
  • Ability to mine, manage, and analyze large volumes of data, knowledge of large-scale data mining and project reporting tools (SQL, Tableau, Alteryx, Power BI, Denodo) is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to balance a large group of diverse projects simultaneously
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to resolve complex problems positively and professionally with minimal supervision
  • Proficient in MS office applications (Excel, Power Point)


Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within a large company accounting environment requires, with 1+ years public accounting preferred.
  • CPA highly preferred
  • Telecommunication industry experience preferred


Base Pay Range: $68,700 - $123,900

Corporate Bonus Target: 10%

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.

At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee's eligible earnings in the prior year.
