The Director of Business Systems will oversee the configuration, use and optimization of software platforms/applications that are used to support the overall Portillo s business model. The Director will develop and implement strategies to maximize enterprise integrations across business systems. The Director will understand key business objectives and identify technology solutions that solve or improve business problems. Develop and implement solutions that best leverage current systems technologies, at an enterprise and departmental level

Ensure effective configuration and administration of internal and external systems, that maximizes the use of systems

Oversee creation and execution of SOWs that maximize benefits for the organization

Partner with stakeholders in the Request for Proposal (RFP) process to select vendors, as applicable

Analyzes financial performance, optimizes cost control, and makes high-level decisions regarding resource allocation

Analyze and assess the configuration and performance of integrations across all business systems. Provide strategic guidance and planning to optimize the performance of systems

Meet with key departmental stakeholders to organize and prioritize feedback that relates to optimization and improvement opportunities for existing systems

Help build business cases for investment in or upgrades to corporate systems that ensure alignment with long range business goals

Work with vendors and drive accountability to ensure that vendors are delivering on expected system results and support requests

Leads the creation and implementation of software, integration and systems standards that define expectations and outcomes for effective platform use across the business

Collaborate with Learning and Development Team to enhance training materials that support the most effective use of business systems

Maintain awareness of business system impact on the restaurant environment, as an important aspect of application performance. Develop a process to collect and assess feedback from the restaurant environment, to ensure that the experience of team members is visible and considered as part of overall solution framework

Lead quarterly business reviews and other assessment and relationship events with key vendors, to ensure that an environment of collaboration and performance is maximized and communicated

ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS

The Director of Business Systems will lead a team of IT professionals. Interacts with all levels of the organization including executives. This position manages business relationships with other departments, including but not limited to Restaurants, Portillo s Food Service (Plants), Operations, Construction, Real Estate, Financial Planning and Analysis, Marketing, People, Payroll, Legal, Loss Prevention, Learning & Development and Supply Chain.

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, skills & abilities

Job Skills:

A proven track record of systems integration assessment and configuration that optimizes the performance of interrelated enterprise systems

Knowledge and supervision of data integrations and optimization, impacting the performance of systems and downstream reporting capabilities

Must be proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Service Channel, Smartsheet

Strong business acumen to align business systems configuration with overall company goals

Working knowledge of mainframe systems such as Oracle and Workday, and applications such as Legion and Workjam is a significant plus

Knowledge and experience relative to the restaurant industry and commonly used restaurant systems is a significant plus

Education Level/Certifications

Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming, Software Engineering or a similar discipline

Work Experience and Qualifications

Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in business systems administration, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, preferably within the restaurant or hospitality industry.

Minimal to no travel
