Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Stress Engineer to join our aerospace team, specializing in landing systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural analysis and design, with a focus on landing gear components. You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and performance of landing systems through rigorous analysis, testing, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed structural analysis of landing gear components and systems using finite element analysis (FEA) and other engineering tools.
  • Develop and validate stress models to predict performance under various load conditions, including static, dynamic, and fatigue analysis.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to review and provide input on design concepts, ensuring compliance with aerospace standards and regulations.
  • Prepare technical reports and documentation to support analysis findings and recommendations.
  • Conduct and support testing activities, including static load tests, and analyze test data to validate design and analysis predictions.
  • Perform risk assessments and failure mode analysis to identify potential issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support the certification process for landing systems, ensuring all requirements are met for regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, practices, and technologies related to landing systems and stress analysis.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in stress analysis within the aerospace industry, specifically focused on landing systems.
  • Proficiency in FEA software (e.g., ANSYS, NASTRAN, ABAQUS) and other structural analysis tools.
  • Strong understanding of aerospace materials, structural mechanics, and fatigue analysis.
  • Knowledge of FAA/EASA regulations and industry standards related to landing gear systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities, with a proactive approach to collaboration.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
