In this automation engineering role, you will be responsible for full spectrum automation engineering tasks from concept to hand off to the production floor.Client Overview

Based in suburban Chicago with a growing manufacturing footprint

Position Overview

As subject matter expert, lead projects with responsibility for planning and scheduling in a cross functional setting
Improve existing products and processes while offering solutions to expand product line
Design electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical
Design, develop and program PLC, HMI, and motion controls from scratch
Develop new electrical designs for both standard and custom equipment
Develop software for robotic systems
Oversee project panel builds and if required build electrical panels from the ground up
Develop and set up vision systems for applications such as angle detection, orientation detection, and feature detection using various tools
Ability to travel periodically for startups, installations, and to resolve field issues

Candidate Requirements

Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
At least 5 years experience of automation and controls engineering
Interest in being part of a team oriented setting while contributing to a positive company culture
Proficiency programming Allen Bradley controls
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-functionally
Strong verbal and written communication skills
