Pay Rate

$19 - $24 an hour - Full-time (Non-Exempt)

Responsibilities

General:

• Willingness to carry out the mission and support the values of the Emmaus Community

• Ability to work as a team member, and agree to supervision by Residential Program Manager and

Director of IDD Services

• Coordinate all program and licensing related activities at Emmaus House and Capernaum House

• Understands the ordinances of the neighborhood and communicates these to the staff

Residential:

• Provides orientation, training, scheduling, mentoring, and supervision for DSPs and Sr. DSPs; models best practices for staff (works in the home/s to provide instruction / best practice regarding all staff responsibilities); provides direct care when needed; ensures adequate staffing patterns at all times; posts schedule in a timely manner

• Ensures that ISPs are implemented as written

• Monitors Therap to ensure DSPs and Sr. DSPs are completing daily, compliant service notes

• Completes and updates assessments, quarterlies, annuals, and SEE plans in line with ISP dates

• Reviews and oversees residents’ goals and outcomes and ensures proper documentation

• Manages and schedules residents’ medical appointments / follow up and medication requirements; collaborates with members of the management team to ensure all short term and long term medical needs are met

• Ensures all elements of medication administration are completed: orders new medications, re-orders medication monthly or as needed, and reviews MARS to ensure they are accurate and complete

• Organizes all program and medical information; ensures all forms are signed and dated as needed and are filed in appropriate binders / file cabinets in a timely manner;

• Assists staff in developing weekly menus that meet specific dietary requirements of all residents

• Conducts regular team meetings to address ongoing household, resident and staff issues

• Coordinates activities for the residents including family visits, birthdays, holidays, & outings

• Serves as point of contact for residents’ family members, ISC’s and vocational staff

• Provides direct support coverage as needed – ie for training and back up plans

• Oversees the general upkeep of the home to ensure a clean, safe and homelike environment

• Reports needed repairs and capital improvements to the Facilities Manager

• Schedules monthly fire drills in a way that is compliant with regulations

Administrative / Supervisory:

• Maintains “on-call” responsibilities

• Posts schedule in Makeshift two weeks prior to the following month; monitors overtime to prevent burnout

• Approves timecards in Paycom by end of day every other Friday to ensure accurate time keeping

• Meets annually with all DSPs / Sr. DSPs to conduct appraisals and develop goals for professional development

• Coordinates with Facilities Manager on car maintenance and household maintenance

Financial:

• Ensures resident attendance is tracked every Monday and recorded correctly for Waiver Compliance

• Oversees residents’ personal finances to include: collecting and turning in all receipts to finance office in a timely manner, communicating with Rep Payee regarding purchases to meet residents; needs and wants, keeps accurate personal inventory of items valued at over $100

• Collects, reviews, and turns in all household receipts to finance office in a timely manner

• Uses Emmaus credit card to make purchases not otherwise covered; turn in receipts

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in the social / human service field and one year of related experience OR two years full time experience as an Emmaus DSP (and/or Senior DSP).

Driver’s License / Act 34 clearance / FBI clearance / Physical and Mantoux before date of hire (or up to date if currently employed); Good working knowledge of the 6400 regulations, Chapter 6100 requirements; strong writing skills; a demonstrated ability to use Therap, Makeshift, & Paycom; Microsoft 365 proficient; willingness to learn new technology as needed; and ability to lead a team of DSPs by example.
