The ideal candidate will have strong creative skills and a portfolio of work which demonstrates their passion for illustrative design and typography. This candidate will have experiences in working with numerous different design platforms such as digital and print forms.

The scope of the proposed services will include the following:

• Meet with State staff to determine the scope of a project.

• Advise State on strategies to reach a particular audience.

• Determine the message the design should portray.

• Create images that identify a product or convey a message.

• Develop graphics for logos and websites.

• Select colors, images, text style, and layout.

• Present the design to State.

• Incorporate changes recommended by the State into the final design.

• Review designs for errors before printing or publishing them.

• Ensure that coding standards are met, optimizing the web architectures for navigability and accessibility.

• Utilize specialized graphic design software to prepare designs.

Expertise and/or relevant experience in the following areas are mandatory:

• Bachelor’s degree

• Exceptional written and oral communication skills, analytical skills, and familiarity with a range of computer software

• Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail

• Strong Excel skills required, including data modeling and ad hoc analysis

Expertise and/or relevant experience in the following areas are desirable but not mandatory:

• Ability to discern key themes within large, complex datasets

• Application of specialized skills within a government agency environment

• Skilled in project design and management

• Capability with PowerBI and PowerAutomate

• Experience in data visualization, especially for external audiences.
