About The Role


The Director, Business Development is responsible for identifying, creating, and pursuing new business opportunities to drive company growth. This role requires a proactive individual who can establish strong relationships with potential clients, analyze market trends, and collaborate with internal teams to develop effective strategies for expanding the business. This position will play a key role in increasing revenue, improving profitability, and ensuring sustainable growth for the company.

What You'll Do


  • Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Sales Development Representatives to achieve and exceed targets.
  • Performance Management: Set clear performance metrics and targets for the team, track performance against goals, and provide regular feedback and coaching to drive continuous improvement.
  • Training and Development: Provide ongoing training and development opportunities to ensure SDRs have the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their roles.
  • Compensation Management: Manage team performance, and ensure SDR commission payouts are timely and accurate.
  • Identify New Business Opportunities: Research, identify, and target new business opportunities in line with the company’s growth strategy.
  • Market Research & Analysis: Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscapes to inform strategic decisions and capitalize on potential opportunities.
  • Client Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Sales Strategy Development: Collaborate with the marketing, sales, and product teams to develop tailored strategies that align with business objectives.
  • Lead Generation & Pipeline Development: Monitor and manage the sales pipeline to ensure a steady flow of qualified leads and opportunities.
  • Negotiation & Closing: Negotiate contracts and close deals with new clients, working to achieve or exceed sales targets.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including sales, marketing, and product development to ensure a cohesive approach to business development.
  • Performance Tracking: Track and report on key performance metrics (KPIs) related to business development activities, providing regular updates to senior management.
  • Networking & Industry Engagement: Attend industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to represent the company and stay updated on industry trends.

What You'll Need

  • Experience: 5-7 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related field. Experience in managing a sales development organization
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Skills:
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and foster trust.
    • Proven track record of generating new business and achieving sales targets.
    • Ability to analyze data and trends to drive decision-making.
    • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Strong negotiation, persuasion, and presentation skills.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions


  • Ability to travel up to 50% when needed both domestic and international

What We Offer


The salary range for this role is $180,000-205,000 however, Packsize considers several factors when determining compensation when extending a job offer, including but not limited to, the role being offered, the associated responsibilities, the candidate's prior work experience, education/training, and any special skills.
