Information Technology Director

Summary

The position is multi-faceted and hands on. The ideal candidate will be capable of collaborating with the executive team to develop IT strategy, policies, and budgets. At the other extreme, the position requires an ideal candidate to roll up their sleeves working side by side with user teams, developers, and operations support.

The Director of IT is responsible for all technical aspects throughout the portfolio including: help desk support for day-to-day operational needs of the company; assisting end users with a myriad of various technical issues; leading large IT projects including the design and deployment of new IT systems and services; monitoring performance of information technology systems to determine cost and productivity levels; making recommendations for improving the IT infrastructure; and troubleshooting hardware and software issues related to internal IT. This position will regularly work with employees across the company, and as of such it requires a very customer service centric attitude, as well as a wide array of technical knowledge.

  • Establish, implement, and communicate the strategic direction of the organization’s IT department and infrastructure
  • Work in conjunction with international parent company, including collaborating with IT team overseas, successfully supporting and executing the global IT Strategy Management process for assigned business segment
  • Provide the vision and leadership for the procurement, implementation, and support of various enterprise systems and applications that support operational teams
  • Ensure all technology solutions are fully leveraged and used to their best potential while managing and improving upon the existing software, hardware, vendors, and processes
  • Reduce waste and inefficiencies through innovation in IT
  • Executing on technology strategies and plans aligned to our strategic objectives
  • Partnering with business leaders across the company and international divisions to establish confidence in the IT function’s ability to execute on technology strategies and plans aligned with our strategic objectives
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of all information technology related activities of the organization
  • Provide help desk/technical support activities to company employees
  • Fulfill IT related needs for new employees (computers, iPads, etc.)
  • Implement and maintain security best practices
  • Provide ERP system support to company employees
  • Optimizes existing IT processes to increase efficiency.
  • Maintain relationship with the company’s external information technology vendors
  • Manage the company’s telecommunications systems
  • Manage the IT hardware/software lifecycle including servers, computers, printers, etc.
  • Evaluate potential new technologies for the organization
  • Establish and administer the department’s budget
  • Develop and execute an IT roadmap that enables rapid innovation, stability, efficiency, and reduced costs for company
  • Creating a high internal satisfaction with internal customers, while anticipating and mitigating business risk
  • Implementing major company software solutions (e.g., ERP, WMS)

Education And Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field
  • Master’s degree in one of the above disciplines is a plus
  • At least 10 years of Information Technology experience, with at least 5 years managing a midsize environment directly responsible for all IT functions

Skills Required

  • In depth knowledge of systems and database architecture supporting OE, billing, production, distribution, and accounting systems
  • Successfully managed ERP implementations and maintaining current systems
  • Proven project management experience in planning and executing enterprise-level IT projects
  • ERP software experience (Oracle NetSuite preferred)
  • Experience with Office 365 & Windows Server 2019
  • Firewall experience (WatchGuard preferred)
  • Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce.com preferred)
  • Experience with Marketing automation software (Marketo preferred)
  • Ability to effectively implement Ecommerce Solutions
  • Experience in cybersecurity; creating and implementing policies and procedures as they relate to cybersecurity

Supervisory Responsibility

This position currently has no direct reports.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

Travel

This position requires 5% travel as needed.
