Director of Operations (Plant General Manager) – Flavor Manufacturing

Our client is a growing international Flavor Manufacturer based in CA. Due to expansion, they are looking for a Director of Operations (Plant Manager) who will be responsible for managing and optimizing the production process while delivering on-time to our customers for this facility in the greater Los Angeles, CA area. This role involves running the plant, maintaining high standards of quality, efficiency, and compliance with industry regulations, while also driving continuous improvement initiatives. The Director will also collaborate with other departments to support business goals and enhance customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Must have at least a BA degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Food Science, or similar. an MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
Must have at FLAVOR Manufacturing experience
Must have a minimum of 8+ years’ experience in operations management, preferably in the flavor industry.
Must have strong knowledge of flavor manufacturing processes, quality control, and supply chain management.
Must have excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
Must have the ability to analyze data, solve problems and make strategic decisions.
Proficient in using ERP systems and other operational tools

Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the production facility, ensuring efficiency and productivity.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and drive initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, product quality and employee performance.
- Monitor and optimize manufacturing processes to improve yield, reduce waste and lower costs.
- Ensure operational activities align with customer requirements and expectations.
- Partner with Quality team to conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Partner with Safety Manager to ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.
- Develop and manage the operations budget by monitoring expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Collaborate with customer service, sales and R&D on any customer complaints and implement corrective actions to improve satisfaction.
- Participate in operations leadership meetings by preparing reports and presenting operational performance as needed.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
