- Perform all your responsibilities in a safe, legal, professional, and ethical manner.
- Transport heavy loads within their assigned route or territory in compliance with rules and regulations for transporting materials
- Load and unload cargo.\
- Determine whether their vehicle complies with weight and height limits on bridges and tunnels and change their plans if needed
- Record amount and type of cargo being delivered.
- Take orders for new deliveries and drive long distances.
- Fill up on fuel, clean truck, and wash windows.
- Report to a dispatcher any incidents encountered on the road.
- Monitor road conditions and watch for traffic congestion.
- Follow all applicable traffic laws.
- Inspect their trailer before and after the trip and record any defects they find.
- Follow accident procedures if an accident occurs.
- Keep a log of their activities.
- Report serious mechanical problems to the appropriate personnel.
- Keep their truck, and associated equipment, clean and in good working order
- Must have a current state issued Class A CDL Driver's License.
- 3 years of commercial driving experience
- Ability to interpret, read manuals, and write reports in English.
- Mechanical and analytical skills preferred.
- Ability to prioritize, organize work, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to provide proper hand signals to crane and truck operators.
- Ability to verbally communicate Safety issues to Customers and other workers on location before and during job task.
- Ability to work at heights and use all PPE required for fall protection correctly.
- Ability to employ physiological movements and actions associated with heavy work.
- Bending, stooping, lifting, seeing hearing, walking, ability to lift 75 lbs., twisting, crawling, climbing, squatting, kneeling, sitting and standing.
- Eyesight sufficient for operating a motor vehicle, inspection of equipment, and completion paperwork.
- Hearing sufficient for telephone contact and interpersonal communication with Customers and coworkers.
