Description of position:

Plan and execute virtual and in-person events for NEABPD, such as alumni webinars, our LMS Deep Dives, educational webinars, and conferences. Oversee the process of recruiting, training, and thanking our volunteers. Embrace and champion the unique mission and values of NEABPD, which are dedicated to providing education, raising public awareness and understanding, decreasing stigma, promoting research, and enhancing the quality of life of those affected by borderline personality disorder and/or related problems, including chronic emotion dysregulation.

Qualifications:

  • Recent proven success working with volunteers in a non profit setting.
  • Experience working with a CRM (Hubspot experience is a bonus).
  • Experience working with Google Suite and Zoom.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail and the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Family Connections or MSTR experience is a bonus (not required)
  • Quickly adapt to new tools and processes.
  • Proficiency in social media and excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Flexibility is our strength: While the position requires 40 hours per week, we understand the importance of work-life balance. Our typical office hours are 10am - 6pm ET with occasional evenings and weekends to meet program demands.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Volunteer Management: (50% of time)

  • Recruit and interview volunteers, and match them to appropriate opportunities
  • Train and onboard volunteers and help our volunteers prepare for service
  • Manage relationships between volunteers and their committee chairs/staff
  • Schedule volunteers for ongoing tasks and events
  • Track volunteer hours to recognize volunteers and help recruit and retain them
  • Regularly evaluate volunteers
  • Develop and execute the process to thank volunteers
  • Communicate with internal departments and external partners
  • Draft policies, procedures, and assessments that guide volunteer behavior
  • Maintain volunteer files, records, and other data
  • Prepare an annual report on the contribution of the volunteer program to the organization

Event Management (50% of the time)

  • Coordinate event logistics, including an event calendar, managing tickets, and attendance
  • Recruit, communicate with, and thank presenters and event volunteers
  • Coordinate publicity, including social media publicity, public relations, advertising, and collateral material design

National Education Alliance for Borderline Personality Disorder:

The mission of the National Education Alliance for Borderline Personality Disorder (NEABPD) is to provide education, raise public awareness and understanding, decrease stigma, promote research, and enhance the quality of life of those affected by borderline personality disorder and/or related problems, including chronic emotion dysregulation. NEABPD serves the borderline personality disorder (BPD) community at large by building awareness and providing the most current information and research on the disorder. NEABPD serves professionals, persons in recovery, and families impacted by BPD. NEABPD’s signature program is Family Connections. Family Connections is a free 24-hour course that provides education, skills training, and support for people who have a loved one with traits of BPD.
