The University of Washington Libraries invites applications and nominations for the position of Associate Dean of UW Tacoma Library. This is an exceptional opportunity to help shape major programs, strategic directions, and service initiatives at one of the nation’s premier academic libraries. Reporting through Workday to the Dean of Libraries, but with primary oversight by the Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs (EVCAA) for UW Tacoma, the Associate Dean is a member of the EVCAA’s leadership team and is responsible for strategic visioning, policy and program development, operations and personnel, and overall innovation and excellence in the UW Tacoma Library. The Associate Dean provides leadership for transformational and user-centered services; integrated educational and curricular programs; staff development at all levels; an inclusive environment that also prioritizes equity and diversity; responsive collections and information resources; assessment; and marketing of services. The Associate Dean works closely with the EVCAA and other UW Tacoma administrative teams to accomplish these responsibilities, and to foster and maintain effective cross-campus communication and coordination. The Associate Dean builds strong collaborative leadership relationships across UW Tacoma, and as a member of Libraries Cabinet, across the UW Libraries tri-campus environment.
