Are you looking for a role in a company that's solving one of the greatest challenges of our lifetime? Ophelia helps people end their opioid use and restore their quality of life with respect for their time and dignity. Our Mission is to make evidence-based treatments for opioid use disorder accessible to everyone... and we're looking to bring more people onto our team to help us achieve it.

Opioid overdose is the #1 cause of death for Americans under 50, but 80% of 3 million Americans with opioid use disorder (OUD) are not getting treatment. Most have jobs, families, and privacy concerns, making it easier to get withdrawal medication from a drug dealer than go to rehab. Meanwhile, 2/3rds of rehabs do not offer medication at all, leading 90% of patients to relapse in the first 3 months. As a result of inadequate access to proven treatment, an American dies of an opioid overdose every 11 minutes.

We are a team of world-renowned doctors, scientists, startup veterans, and White House advisors, backed by leading technology and healthcare investors (Y Combinator, General Catalyst) to re-imagine and re-build addiction treatment in America.

Join us, save lives, and help fix healthcare for those who need it most.

About The Role

As a Product Designer II at Ophelia, you will play a pivotal role in crafting innovative, user-centric design solutions that directly impact the experience of patients, clinicians, and our ability to scale the treatment of opioid use disorder through telehealth. Your work will focus on developing and maintaining best-in-class digital experiences, collaborating closely with engineering, product, and business teams.

In this role, you’ll engage with the full product lifecycle—from ideation to execution—owning your designs and driving projects autonomously in a remote environment. With a passion for design systems and a keen eye for both the visual and functional aspects of design, you’ll deliver solutions that balance simplicity and scalability. You’ll work cross-functionally with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including clinicians, to ensure our products align with user needs and business goals.

Flexibility and adaptability will be key as you navigate the challenges of a fast-evolving, growth-stage company. Leveraging both qualitative and quantitative data, you'll drive decision-making and continuously improve our design systems. You’ll also stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies, advocating for innovation in product design and development.

At Ophelia, we are united by a mission to make evidence-based addiction treatment universally accessible. While direct experience in healthcare design or telehealth is not required, familiarity with regulated industries, including healthcare compliance (HIPAA), is highly desirable.

  • Take ownership of your work, driving projects from inception to impact; maintaining proactive communication and collaboration in a remote setting
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to foster innovation in design and product development. Advocate for the excitement of visual design craft while aligning it with business goals
  • Work in a dynamic environment, balancing rigor and scrappiness; comfort level with ambiguity; openness to critique and curiosity to learn from the perspective of others

Compensation is dynamic at Ophelia: as long as the company performs well and meets our targets, there will be opportunities for increased compensation annually. We’re happy to discuss this approach and our bands if you have questions during the interview process.
