Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Google Cloud Platform Data Engineer with a strong background in networking and telecom domain expertise. The candidate will play a key role in designing, building, and optimizing data pipelines, while also ensuring seamless network performance within the Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform). This role will involve working on large-scale telecom datasets, focusing on high-volume streaming data and cloud-based network integrations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines in Google Cloud Platform, ensuring optimal data flow and transformation across large-scale systems.
  • Work on real-time streaming data processing using tools like Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Kafka, and BigQuery.
  • Implement networking solutions in Google Cloud Platform, optimizing data traffic flow between services, and ensuring high availability and security.
  • Collaborate with telecom stakeholders to integrate network data into Google Cloud Platform-based data lakes and platforms.
  • Develop ETL processes and ensure effective data ingestion, storage, and analysis from various telecom network systems.
  • Ensure end-to-end data security by integrating network security policies like VPC Service Controls, firewalls, and private networking.
  • Automate data pipeline workflows and manage CI/CD pipelines for deployments using Terraform, Cloud Build, or Jenkins.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues related to data flow, latency, and connectivity between Google Cloud Platform services.
  • Collaborate with data science and analytics teams to provide clean, optimized data for telecom-specific use cases.
  • Implement and monitor cost-optimized cloud solutions for handling massive datasets and workloads.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 9+ years of experience as a Data Engineer with a focus on large-scale data processing, at least 4+ years in Google Cloud Platform.
  • Strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform services: BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, DataProc, and Cloud Storage.
  • Experience in networking within Google Cloud Platform, including VPC, VPN, Cloud Interconnect, and load balancing.
  • Solid understanding of telecom domain data, network protocols, and infrastructure including OSS/BSS systems.
  • Experience with real-time data streaming technologies (Kafka, Apache Beam, Spark Streaming).
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and Java for data processing tasks.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform and Deployment Manager.
  • Familiarity with network security policies and tools in Google Cloud Platform (VPC Service Controls, firewalls, identity management).
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, and routing protocols in the context of cloud infrastructure.

Preferred Skills:

  • Telecom domain experience working on large network datasets, billing systems, or customer data.
  • Google Cloud Platform networking certifications or Google Cloud Platform Professional Data Engineer certification.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and automation using Jenkins, Cloud Build.
  • Knowledge of Hadoop, HDFS, and Apache Hive for big data processing.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment with cross-functional teams
