QA & Testing Senior Advisor
This is a W-2 position only (no staffing agencies or contractors). Candidates must currently reside in the U.S.
REMOTE POSITION - Monday-Friday, 40 hours. Core Hours: 8 am-4 pm CST.
The QA & Testing Senior Advisor provides counsel and advice to top management on significant QA matters, often requiring coordination between organizations. This role offers consultation at the highest technical level to project teams and client areas, assisting with the successful development and implementation of effective computer systems applications across multiple computing environments (e.g., host-based, distributed systems, client-server).
The Senior Advisor consults with clients, IT management, and staff throughout the project life cycle to assist and support the design, development, and implementation of effective systems. Responsibilities include drafting, revising, and approving test plans and scripts to ensure alignment with standards and IT strategy. The role creates test data files with valid and invalid records to thoroughly test program logic and verify system flow. It also involves collaborating with users to plan user acceptance testing, alpha, and beta testing.
The Senior Advisor ensures that system tests are successfully completed and documented, with all issues resolved. They analyze and design new or modified Quality Assurance (QA) procedures and standards and assist in developing and implementing QA metrics to assess the quality of delivered application software. The role participates in reviewing new QA software and consults with IT staff and client areas to resolve questions during the testing process. They work with client and IT management to establish and maintain a consistent test methodology.
The Senior Advisor focuses on providing thought leadership and technical expertise across multiple disciplines and is recognized internally as the "go-to person" for the most complex Quality Assurance & Testing assignments.
Required Skills:
- 5+ years of experience coordinating highly complex testing efforts.
- Deep knowledge and experience with various testing methodologies in both Agile (Scrum & Kanban) and Waterfall environments.
- Ability to quickly develop a solid understanding of the technical details within the applicable application(s)/system(s) to be tested, as well as correlate that activity to the solution and the business features it supports.
- Ability to translate high-level or vague specifications into clear testing requirements with acceptance criteria.
- Strong technical and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of multiple platforms, ranging from mainframe to entities.
- Strong interpersonal and team-building skills to influence participants and drive results. Solid individual contributor with time spent providing direction to others.
- Detail-oriented, with the ability to work and guide others under time constraints to meet deadlines.
- Ability to adapt in a dynamic, cross-functional work environment, learn quickly, identify risks, and solve problems effectively.
- Functions well in a large-scale, highly complex, cross-functional/platform environment.
- Knowledge of the Health industry/PBM is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work well in a diverse environment.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software: Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and Project.
Education: Bachelor's Degree REQUIRED.
