Role Summary

The Smart Factory, Service & Fleet Technology organization supports our mission by ensuring our products are always ready for that adventure through intelligent software systems which enables the continuous development, manufacturability and sustainability of our products throughout their lifecycle.

We are looking for a Sr. Staff UI/UX Designer to join our organization to drive the overall design and flow of our applications for the various business units and personas our organization serves. Partnering closely with the broader design teams to ensure adherence to the unified design language, this candidate will be embedded with the development organization to drive the vision of our applications with an end user design eye. This role is based in one of our technology hubs - either Palo Alto, CA or Irvine, CA and reports directly to the Sr. Director, Vehicle & Fleet Applications.

Responsibilities

The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:

? Work with Product and Engineering Leads to drive the design elements of our Factory MES software, Smart Diagnostics ecosystem and Fleet Management software

? Partner with stakeholders to understand their pain points and ideate on ways to continue to simplify the complex, driving toward efficiency through interface design simplicity

? Partner with broader UI/UX organizations on common design language, flows and reusable component development

? This is a hands-on role with potential for leadership in building a small team over time

Qualifications

? BA / MA in Design or related field, or equivalent job experience

? Exceptional artistic eye and technical ability with modern design tools (Figma preferred)

? Experience designing user-facing web and mobile based applications for enterprise

? Experience doing presentation engineering preferred (jump into code and CSS)

? Previous team leadership experience preferred

? Previous experience with automotive manufacturing and service preferred

Pay Disclosure

Salary Range/Hourly Rate for Palo Alto, California Based Applicants: $213,000.00 - $266,300.00 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).

Salary Range/Hourly Rate for Irvine, California Based Applicants: $196,000.00 - $245,000.00 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).

Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
